Oh no! I hope that they can get it cleared and stabilised quickly.

And a camera, because that is kind of really handy.
Yeah. Me too.
I’m sure things have improved, but there are reasons we moved away from Christchurch as it was in the late 90s.
Honey badger don’t care!
Yeah. That’s where I was going with this.
On the other hand I think there was something like that in the Wairarapa last year or the year before and some of the local hapū decided they met the criteria and went along and it was all very amicable and opened up a path to conversation?
I’m eligible on multiple accounts (including that my great-great-great-whatever-grandfather was Captain of the ship that brought the Godleys across 😬) but I’m not sure whether this is a badge to which I should aspire?
You know, we spent weeks learning all the vocab about la récolte in FREN201. Would this qualify me to come eat your vintage meals? (She asks, hopefully. She also suspects the actual work would break her.)
We used to have then when films were usually only 90 minutes long. Also, can we bring back the short film before the feature?

And no AI features.
A short sleeved sequinned dress with high collar. It is bright yellow and has a silk satin belt cinching the waist
Another big name in fashion lore was born on this day in 1900 and that was Norman Norell. Amongst his many striking designs, one of his most recognisable was his mermaid dresses, silk jersey covered entirely in sequins. Here an early #1960s version in bright yellow #museumatFIT #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Update: looking out my window, but Harcourt Werry Drive and the KG Bridge are open again.
It’s still pretty wet and windy, so if you do have to venture out today, please take care. 🩵
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
I did my first Pilates teaching practice hour (admittedly, it was with R, but it still counts!). Today I emailed out to the friends who've said they've keen to be a practice person for me, and am in the middle of booking the first one in (have to book studio time).
I also did some tidying!
We’re hopefully staying safe perched on our hillside. All good with you too?
Yeah, it’s obviously something worrying them.
In 18 years living overlooking the river, I don't think they've ever closed the bridges like this, not even after the Kaikoura EQ.
Update from Hutt City FB page: The river is rising quickly. They are closing both Kennedy Good and Melling bridges overnight and not reopening until they've been assessed by engineers in the morning. Get home, sooner rather than later. Roads are already closing.

They've been doing a lot of work on resilience along the Hutt River for several years now - and it does seem to be making a difference. They rarely have to close Harcourt Werry Drive these days.
They'd done a lot of digging channels in the Hutt River over the last few weeks, and the levels have gone down since Saturday, and so far stayed down. They have closed the Riverbank carpark this afternoon. High tide for the next half hour or so, then pressure should ease here, but overnight... ?
They did a big preventative hill scrape across the road from us a few weeks back. I think that was a good idea.
High tide is 4.56 to 6 pm.
Avoid non-essential travel and don’t hang out under slip-prone slopes.
Email just in from Hutt City Council about declared state of emergency (first one we’ve ever received).
If you’re parked in the Riverside car park, move your car now (they said by 3pm).
Flood prone? Consider evacuating now for next 24 hours.
This is the right time of year for me to buy some bulbs off you, isn’t it?
Do you have any matchsticks/grape hyacinths?
I’ve tried at various times of the year, knowing that it is prone to bolting, if you can get it to take root in the first place.
If the weather clears enough, I’ll drop some off on Thursday.
Sure thing, although distinguishing runners from older plants at this point has become somewhat difficult. Even runners that have their roots dangling in thin air fruit!
There are some that popped up in the lower gardens that I think are from our originals. Any in planters did nothing this year, but the main garden still provided many, many strawberries.
