This year’s SEFARI Science for Life Lecture, hosted by @bioss.bsky.social, was delivered by David G. Farquhar FRGS - a talk that championed throwing out the rule book and finding your niche.

As he put it, ‘Science is a chance to be daring.’

It's a bit rough and ready, but I prefer to show as close to what you see by eye as a phone snap can capture. Its been an amazing year for them.

A classic proof without words showing that

1+3+5+...+(2n-1)=n²

taking advantage of the fact that 2025 is a square and therefore it's the sum of all odd numbers from 1 to 89!
