Got this really nice hand painted art in the mail yesterday. Some fine art with a photo of the artist to go with it. ✨️💜🦝

That would be the scrap from a thermite weld in the track. Usually can find pieces of terracotta along with it sometimes. I see that stuff all the time when im out railfanning next to the tracks and have first hand watched them do it.

Should be able to find a fresh rusty area on the rail nearby
