This is great and also illustrates how frivolous and completely damaging design review is for housing in our city

Thank you for posting, this has been such a weird gap in the street on Mercer. What a senseless saga of housing
Explaining #seattle housing politics to a New Yorker is hilarious. nimby position is new buildings only downtown. The far left most yimby position is brownstone height buildings near commercial centers. The notion of brownstone height everywhere or some taller buildings is outside polite discourse.
Having often dealt with the frustration of binder-limited projects, we sought a more accessible source for nanobodies than yeast display or llama. Here we introduce Germinal, computationally designing antibody-like binders with such a hit rate that only tens need to be screened for each target.
I’d buy a sign! Feels strange to only see the nimby signs around
Is there an opposing group “Queen Anne for more neighbors” or “Queen Anne for the people”?
One of the densest places in the world has ladder streets. Seems doable in QA. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladder_...
Speak up to prevent a major loss for the field. CASP, which helped shaping structural biology including AlphaFold is on the verge of shutting down. NIH funding has lapsed, UC Davis support ends and the core team is being let go. Painfully shortsighted.
“Someone with a 1-hr car commute needs to earn 40% more to be as happy as someone with a short walk to work. On the other hand, if someone shifts from a long commute to a walk, their happiness increases as much as if they’d fallen in love.” #CityMakingMath

Temporary, but a clear win for HB1110 legal approach! Little fanfare is ideal really, when tensions run so high
This guy stole $10 million from the employees of his nursing home to buy himself a luxury yacht and Cartier watches. He PLED GUILTY.
And because his Mom gave Trump $1 million, he just got a pardon.
And this story barely makes the news today. WTF. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/27/u...
Interest rates too high? And new “uncertainty”

Good idea to try! We have been testing deep research against review papers it can’t access and been impressed by low error rate and ability to update w more recent data. I was a skeptic but those tests were convincing

Not just more data but also more types of data about tissues and cells.
Great piece. Often try to explain this to tech people, they train on human data, it is often easily observable. In bio much of data is invisible to us, now we have transcriptomics, spatial bio, etc. Hubble telescope is an example, before that you can’t see so far! We need bio Hubbles
So happy @openfold.io is growing! More exciting announcements coming soon about our new all atom model adding ligand and RNA/DNA
