It's interesting to me how much automation plays a role in this.
These crass interactions wouldn't go viral if the they were written out as crackfics on AO3, but the fact a Nintendo game "randomly" had characters say these things (using nouns they were prompted with) makes it funny for people.
My assumption is that this is the real reason Nintendo disabled native screenshare - not to avoid all the edgy memes which will surely be distributed by content creators regardless, but trying to avoid kids using it to bully each other in their group chats.

Happy #Supergirl Day! :D
Hmmm. Depends on what you think is gayer: being textually soulmates or being textually compared to Odysseus and Persephone? 🤔
This is something I do really appreciate about the Moon Girl cartoon over at Marvel - it adapted her intelligence, but dropped the "This child is definitively the smartest human as she solved the objectively true unsolvable smartest human puzzle (made by Bruce Banner)" of it all.
Oh no, is Street Fighter going to do asexual erasure? /j
This is a good reminder that I still need to play "I Just Want to be Single!!" lol
It's weird to me how Duke is typically left out of art featuring "all the Robins." He's a Robin!
(I'd also argue that Maps is, pragmatically speaking, a Robin already by now, but I get that Batman / DC Corporate has not given her the official Robin go-ahead or w/e.)
This feels like a shorthand to giving someone AI psychosis.
People have been developing delusions of grandeur from your standard AI assistants; why would someone make one modelled after their God?
I didn't realize it had changed! The new one looks more traditionally Rhythm-Heaven-y though, with the hard black outlines around the important figures.
I... truly do not even know what this one means haha.
If it was Marvel or Star Wars, I would kind of understand it, but a Disney Games project???
I remember the Apple Arcade version of this generating some discussion as it seemed to have less corporate red tape around its portrayals then Nick All-Star Brawl did.
Funnily enough, it looks like the corporate red tape may be back for the console version lol.
Awwww she looks so good!

Hey!
It's International Asexuality Day!
If you want to read an incredible comic run on asexuality, check out Love Unlimited Infinity comic issues 43 through 48!
I finished the latest (and likely last) Life is Strange game a couple days ago and the discourse around the game online is just so exhausting to me.
Unsurprisingly, a game built around making personal subjective choices will resonate differently with different people! 🤷
I passed on that one during the Wii U era and do not particularly want to plug my Wii U back in for it, but all the Star Fox talk these past few days has been giving me FOMO all the same lol.
It's low-key mindblowing how many songs they included in that game. They didn't need to go that hard, but they did.
It's my go-to example of a narrative game that can only be experienced as a video game.
You could try a manga or anime adaptation, but it just wouldn't be the same. The story is linear (in a sense, at least), but yet it is SO defined by its interactivity all the same.
It's increasingly becoming ragebait all the way down, unfortunately...
It's funny as I feel like the substance of the discussion is not that different from the discussion of the first movie?
I'm not sure what happened that turned up the temperature of the discourse so much.
Looks like they're making some adaptation changes to make this more of Kara's story instead of Ruthye's, but I am still looking forward to it! Still really exciting to see this comic be adapted at all.
I am curious about that! The fact Ruthye is the one with lines about his condition / the cure to it suggests they may be making some changes around the ending of the story...
That old Miyamoto quote you pulled for your Lore Master piece feels like it is going to be, uh, relevant in discussion of this movie haha.
They did have a digital-only comic a few years ago! Granted, it was more of an anthology story about the different team members then a true new volume of the book.

Agreed! I just reaaaaaally hope she is based on the novels, with some of the novel-exclusive bending techniques and, of course, Rangi as her assist character.
The fact that Asami isn’t Korra’s assist makes me fairly confidant they have plans for her, whether as one of the two remaining base characters or as DLC. I think she’d be supporting her GF if they didn’t have her being playable on her own in the cards.
if nothing else, there is something to be said for spending time outside in the sun with thousands of people who share your anger at the state of things
I guess there's a chance the Supergirl movie brings it back into the mainstream, if it is a loyal adaptation in that one specific way.
I'm still very baffled by it doing a riff on The Killing Joke and then just... dropping Barbara entirely. I know there were some writer shake-ups going on, but I was looking forward to Oracle!
