You use the comm to ask who it is and he says he’s Ramirez returning from a repair mission, but Ramirez is sitting right next to you in the command module and he’s just as confused as you are. When you tell the guy this over the radio he starts banging on the door louder and harder, begging you to let him in, saying he’s the real Ramirez. Meanwhile, the Ramirez inside with you is pleading to keep the airlock shut. It really puts life on Earth into perspective.

And Rite of Spring absolutely contains some of the jarring syncopations I’m doing in my cut up noise, I’ve never made that connection before either.
Listening to Petrushka by Stravinsky now and marveling at how it both previews technical death metal ala Suffocation with it containing the Liege of Inveracity mosh part rhythm, and turntablism with the chopped up rewind play that measure/half measure/quarter measure again moment. Fun to spot these.
Well, it worked amazingly well for 3 in a row, but it def got shaky with Dead Reckoning and I haven’t seen the latest one yet but word of mouth is that’s where it’s fallen apart (which is why I didn’t rush out to see it.)
I also loved Hall of the Mountain King and why, yes, I do like heavy metal a lot, why do you ask?
Feel like if you were a kid with a classical music obsessed parent and this was one of the pieces you gravitated to most strongly, a future of listening to lots of Xenakis and Merzbow is not too surprising.
