Pitch Page
What the fuck is this book?
A conversational, cooperative game.
Is playing a big commitment?
Fuck no: you can play 30 minutes at a time, and there's no board / pieces / electronics.
So what's gameplay like?
One player runs events and scenarios. The other players make main characters they control in those scenarios. This book contains an entire storyline of premade scenarios.
What's the storyline?
Come find out. It's a full narrative are, like a season of a TV show.
What's the setting then?
St. Disma, a neon-soaked island city in the year 2140. Genetic engineering, cybernetics, criminal underworld, political violence - you get the idea.
How do you win?
Completing in-game goals, and putting on the best riffs each session.
How many players will there be?
4 to 6 players is the sweet spot, but any number works.
So I just show up then or what?
Exactly, just bring a pencil.

Very excited to add to my teaching collection these TTRPGs by Bull Press, distributed (free) to incarcerated folks & designed for their needs — which is to say, they conform to US contraband rules (including no dice, no maps, etc).

Purchased with my own cash.

A graphic that reads "Other finished books" in front of a bookcase background. Pictured are covers of other books that Dancer finished during the month of January. From top to bottom, left to right: the audiobook of "Dragonflight", by Anne McCaffrey, "Fate Touched" by cinderpaw1 (with a note added by Dancer that reads: "the story Cinder was writing when we first met, that sparked our relationship"), "Out of Air" by Rachel Reiss, "A Fellowship of Bakers & Magic" by J. Penner, and "Turning Point" by Lisanne Norman.

I had a great time returning to one story, and finding many others! My TBR may have grown by several hundred books over the last few weeks, but if you have any book suggestions, send them my way and I'll definitely consider adding them to my ever-growing pile of anticipation! 3/3 #tbr #reading

A graphic in front of a bookcase background reads "Favorite book", next to a picture of the cover of "Camp Damascus" by Chuck Tingle. The Cover of the book is a mix of reds and blacks, featuring a mouth open to the sky in a way that's shaped like the mountains behind it, spitting out mayflies in a spurt of black smoke. Lower on the page is a set of cabins, most of which are dark but one of which has an eerie blue light glowing from within. A quote on the side of this cover, added by dancer, reads “Our relationship wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, but it was real. It was misunderstandings and growth and forgiveness and acceptance and, of course, the beauty that comes along with all that. We were so much more than a montage of upbeat music and endless smiles.” ― Chuck Tingle, Camp Damascus. A list of themes is added by Dancer below the cover, reading: LGBTQ main character; horror young adult; grapples with heavy themes; elements of found family; discussion: Christianity's good and bad sides.

Camp Damascus, by Chuck Tingle, was an intriguing and compelling read that I didn't expect to like as much as I did, but the more I read it the more I could feel myself getting swept away in the story. 2/3 #chucktinglebooks #horrorbooks #reading

This year I wanted to start getting back into books, especially as real life has been a little grim. I read from quite a few different genres this month, mostly fantasy, yes, but also discovered my intrigue for horror books and horror as a genre. 1/3 #storygraphapp #reading #books

Incredible read! I'm honestly surprised and kind of stoked about the success of non-violent movements described here. I'm not even dogmatic on that issue, but if this stuff works, it's the way to go.

With ICE raids already starting, remember this when you get asked if you've seen anyone they're looking for,

NO
I don't remember
I haven't seen anyone
I don't know
Fuck off

Ok, maybe not the last one, but erase your memory

A two panel comic strip.

Panel 1: A light gray human shape (like a thicc stick figure) labelled "THE WEALTHY ELITE" reaches greedily, mouth open in excitement, towards a large floating yellow ball that is labelled "A SECOND GILDED AGE"

Panel 2: same as above, but behind the gray figure (who now has a sweat drop to indicate nervousness on its head) is a VERY large pink blob labelled "THE RETURN OF OUTLAW FOLL HEROES" with one arm wrapped around the gray figure, expression quietly threatening
