Seems like a betrayal of the old left wing working class position in favour of a neoliberal centrist position. Not a win for me 👎

Today was my 8th march, marking 2 years since my 1st in October 2023. 2 years of genocide. The apartheid occupation continues. Britain is still arming it. The war criminals are still at large. And so we march. No justice, no peace.

It’s ok, I already like them, she doesn’t need to convince me.

Perhaps, but let’s not fight millionaire’s battles for them, or kid ourselves that they are on anyone’s side but their own.

Emma Watson is also a millionaire nearly a hundred times over.

This is an ultimatum, not a “peace plan”. It’s no different to Austria’s ultimatum to Serbia in July 1914. They neither expect nor want them to agree. It’s just a pretext to justify the violence that ensues.

One side giving up everything isn’t a “peace plan”, it’s an unconditional surrender. The international community is finally turning and Palestine is in the stronger position. Accepting this deal would be the end of Palestine.

Owen Jones: "With anti terror legislation we were told all the time this would not be abused, it would not be used against peaceful protesters, and what we see when you hand the state power... what was originally claimed evolves into something quite different"

Yep.

If Starmer doesn’t explicitly call out the extreme racism and Islamophobia that’s dominated recent marches, then he will only complete his complicity in the current rise of the far right.

Trump’s Cult of Power Cancels Free Speech Adam Johnson of “Citations Needed” on the White House’s weaponization of Charlie Kirk’s death and clampdown on free speech.

“It’s the normalisation of what was until recently considered malicious extremism.”

Extremism has been legitimised by “moderates” who are too afraid to call out the far right for the sake of their own popularity. They would rather hang on to its coat tails for a few more votes or a few more likes.

Trump is following the UK’s lead in proscribing political opponents as “terrorists”. The west is on a fast track to tyranny.

400 people were arrested yesterday for writing words on cardboard and you don’t think we have a free speech problem?

It’s a shame Daniel Jackson’s new country was established with all the trappings of the old countries. Time to ditch the flags and the presidents.

Imagine if Israel put the same amount of effort into not killing kids as they put into trying to rig song competitions.

When I marched through London a year ago for Nakba 76, I never imagined we’d all still be here a year later for 77. But we are. And we aren’t going anywhere until the genocide ends and Palestine is free. 🇵🇸 @pscupdates.bsky.social @stopthewar.bsky.social @cnduk.bsky.social

It’s an insane and incredibly dangerous proposal. The state of the replies here shows just how captured this app is by Ukrainism.

RIP David Lynch. When I was 17 I watched Eraserhead late night at home and it blew my mind. I was hooked and over the next year sought out and consumed everything he’d done, from Twin Peaks to Lost Highway, before then seeing his last films at the cinema. He opened my eyes to a new realm of cinema.

Liz Truss here calling four MPs “Islamist” and demonstrating that “Islamist” is just an acceptable derogatory phrase for Muslim.
