I just recently learned that the Sega CD ADV "Urusei Yatsura: Dear My Friend" received a fan-made port to PC via Adventure Game Studio a few years ago which includes a near-complete English translation! archive.org/details/urus...

While I don't directly have it, the 2004 version of Sonic R ported to DirectX9 still has this default config for the Sidewinder. The Sonic R Updater that takes your 1998 copy to turn it into the 2004 version makes it easy for us "Early adopters" to see that.

Konami, Capcom, even SEGA were keen on letting you play your favorites on your computer. Even if those favorites came a year or three after their original console versions.

I should say, this controller config for the Sidewinder is built into Sonic R. There's no external program here, I'm sure Sega liked to see a controller that had same number of buttons as Saturn, especially after how many years Sonic R PC was available on the market compared to the Saturn original.

Microsoft absolutely wanted Sodewinder to be a thing. Even Sonic R has custom default mapping thats similar to the Saturn control scheme where A and C are jump, B is accelerate, X, Y, Z all adjust the camera and the two center buttons pause. But remapping the buttona disables this custom config.

yeah still gonna flex the fact i made menu music for legit sega console hardware

one of my life career goals was to work on audio for toys. believe it or not i originally didn’t aspire to be a game composer as much as i wanted to just mess around with soundchips.

but this at least hit both realms😁

Whoo, what an exhausting few days witnessing something that isn't really going to be explainable or worth talking about right now because its way too early, but it's potential is actually very -very- good. You'll have to take my vague posting word for it, but this could be months or years away...

Boy SEGA really did just give you all the Sonic Genesis titles on PC expect for the first Sonic game, didn't they? Sonic 2, 3, Knuckles, Mean Bean Machine, 3D Blast, Spinball and even Sonic CD. But not Sonic 1.

That's a real shame since 3 of those games do work under Dreamm. You can argue how nobody is going to buy an old strategy game or go after remasters over those original DOS/Windows games but if you're not going to keep that stuff in circulation and give -zero- warning about it...

I feel good I've been able to hold onto my PC games for as long as I have since some of it began to get easier to run on modern hardware than ever before. Exciting times for some of those impossible-to-run games.

An update: it seems like Sigma Star Saga DX has added the required disclosure and LRG has also reached out to me about what to do going forwards. Looks like this is going to be resolved.

Metal Gear Solid PC version being played on a Sodewinder Game Pad USB on an IBM ThinkPad T40.

Well, this controller may have a very slow polling rate, but there is style going on here.

This PC version of Metal Gear Solid is on GOG right now. Even though it may have lost a lot of it's relevance these days, published by Microsoft back in the day, dev'd by Digital Dialect. (Expecting a newer Sidewinder game pad than this) Some QoL features aren't unlike what you'd see in a recomp.
