Reminding myself at the airport - you haven’t carried a knife in years, you don’t have a knife
Nah tragically she only sells locally. Like I was saying in the comments part of the reason her work is a bit cheaper to fit the market. I’ve tried to get her to sell online but she just doesn’t want to deal with listings/ shipping which is totally fair. All her pieces are unique so itd be a lot.
I hear it a lot too - especially when people are looking through my bargain bin. I always tell people they are more than welcome to give me MORE money, they never do ☠️
Cats are incredibly silly 😂
If you all think my prices are too low I’d hate for you to see my friends prices on fully sgraffito pie plates and mugs 😂 her work is criminally underpriced.
Where there isn’t always a lot of money to go around but they have cultivated a good art buying public. I try and match rates with my friends who are the local potters there 🤷♂️
Yeah I think all these prices you can see are roughly 20% less than my online prices - (still may be considered low I know) partly because some of this stuff (the wee planters) I would really like to see just go away. The other reason why they are lower is this sale is in rural Kansas cont -

Is it even Artwalk is I don’t make a new stand or something?
This has been going on for longer than you would expect would keep his interest.

I’ve heard so many good things! My partners college roommate took a rat lab class where they got a rat and had to train them on mazes and stuff! I worry about getting them and being so attached to something with such a short life! I need one of those giant ones that can be 20 y/o lol
I really really want some as pets but I’ve never gotten any for some reason!
A collection of brown green and blue pottery with different glazes and motifs. Most are mugs but some planters and bowls in there too
First in person sale of the year is happening this weekend, and I’ll end up putting my shop on vacation mode idk probably Thursday? And it’ll be off probably until the beginning of May. So if you’ve been eying something beware!

Rats. I have my art show/sale/fair this coming weekend so none of the new stuff will go online until a week after that. Hopefully none of it’s left and I don’t have to list it at all 😂
A dark blue grey pie plate with a white center. The rim has worms on it and the center has a sgraffito design of a black rat king with a small gold crown with a red slash through it.
No rat kings.

I should have thought of crazed being an issue, I probably won’t glaze this one yet as I still haven’t done any glaze tests on my local clay!
Socket for an eye screw is a good call. I just put a lug with a hole at the top on this first one I did. But with the lug and the hanging ring there’s a lot of joined clay thickness at the top
A hand holding a bookend planter that is red with drippy gold glazed rim
I wish chrome tin reds/purples/pinks wouldn’t burn out so bad at ^6. I probably should have applied it a bit thicker too. I love the red and this gold together though. It’s not super apparent in this but the gold is as close to a real metallic without using a luster.

Hey do you have any tips for bells or things to be wary of? I’d never thought of making them before I saw yours but now I’m kind of dying to make some!

SO FUN IT HURTS🗡️
That’s a really lovely bell!
But yes it the wood is way more of a wreck lol and I but lots of weird smallish bits like this for guitar so it’s kind of insane. I have to reorg a couple times a year because it all comes apart when I take stuff out of the rack 😂
we have a pretty formidable stash of fabric & yarn too 😂
I do a tiny bit of sewing and my partner does a bit of personal alterations/apparel/has made several quilts. I got my grandma’s gigantic stash of remnants from her long history of making very nice, if ugly quilts, crochet, & embroidery.
Looking down a plant of rosewood.
Got a small board of nice Pau ferro today. The wood accumulation continues 🤷♂️
A hand holding bent guitar binding strips
Mission success!
16 guitar binding strips laid flat top to bottom : figured maple, bubinga, wenge and cherry. All are wet and shiny ready to be steam bent

Looking down a series of wood strips from L to R cherry maple bubinga and wenge. An Indian rosewood fret board is seen on the right
Gotta bend up some cherry binding so I figured I’d just bend one of everything for the next ones. I think the wenge will go on the figured walnut I have set to the side and maple or bubinga will go with the figured sapele I have.
