MG Fredendall at Kasserine vibes....an ADM specifically chosen over the army GEN for this fight has not exactly covered the navy or joint force in glory. Now to find out he's been operating out of FL - explains a lot. Lack of force protection, no minesweepers, and overall lack of theater strategy.
Lol...it's been longer than I realized. They were implementing IPPS-A a few months before I retired.
Also the DA638 should accompany the certificate. It's nice to see the comments and if someone in the chain downgraded it, the recipient knows exactly who it was. I worked for a BG who downgraded MSMs and ARCOMs for most soldiers; showed them that their CoC recognized them, even if the BG didn't
What the Megyn Kelly Rosie O'Donnel thing about?....I missed that one
Either that, or time to change the story back to Epstein to get away from all the news takes on his abject surrender to Iran this week. I'd put it at even money either way.
All I'm saying is I don't think the generals are pushing back in the way you think they are. He's already got them bombing boats in the Caribbean. Is it worrisome? absolutely....the military and generals are not going to save our democracy, only we can.
Color me very doubtful that the generals pushed back like that...and I'm saying that as a retired army officer.
Joint really is expanded army: Doctrine, TO&E, policy, a lot of budget $$, and training all came from army. When I was in, there was a lot of grousing about the cost, but truthfully it benefited the army as much as it cost, not least by giving them a certain amount of dominance and control.
And, oh and by the way, traders LOVE volatility more than anything....they just play the swings and don't care which direction the volatility is going..... they're loving every minute of this.
More than 'some' responsibility....
Lol...good band....listened to them in the 90's....thanks for the memories!
Another price paid for the slow destruction of professional journalism
One of the current crop just flew an Apache by Kid Rock's house is how it's going....lol
Grievance, grievance, grievance....sub par officer, knows it from his OERs, from his peers, and from the fact that MNNG was well on its way to dismissing him. Tremendous insecurity... really a pathology of this entire administration.
Did you see the reporting that it was the 2-17 squadron commander flying the aircraft? JFC!
I agree, there is a fine line and we are over it.... I'm not sure where the boundary is, but moving it more to civilian involvement/accountability and choice is generally better. It will enable a future admin to right the ship more easily - I hope!
It will cause more critical thinking, create better judgement in mid-level leaders, and end careerism in the officer corps. Fired leaders in the past were not dismissed, they were reassigned. Zero defects and the current DoD promotion system is not working any more. Time for something new.
I'm coming around to more partisanship will lead to better CIV/MIL outcomes. It enables some bad ones e.g Hegseth). Politicians outsourced GWOT to DoD and it sucked. Historically, the best civilian leaders (FDR and Lincoln) personally picked their GOs. The CIV side must be dominant and accountable.
Lol...came here to say this too..
The most needed skills at the moment are judgement, critical thinking and identifying risk....and they are in extremely short supply. A BN CDR? Smdh
Though it should be selective based on their conduct, go all the way down to O4 level, careerism cannot be accepted, we must demand that the service's values, individual critical thinking, courage, and true leadership are the reasons people are promoted and or retain their positions.
40 years ago...man I feel old 🤣🤣
Lol...one of my wife and my favorite movies...the builders always say 'two weeks' until it's finished. We've been in the construction industry our whole lives and use that quote all the time....so do all our peers....it's a great inside joke and I'm guessing where Trump gets it from....
Great movie btw...
The Money Pit with Tom Hanks and Shelley Long as the sacred scrolls....'two weeks'...it's always 'two weeks'!
Especially because they can't be discharged through bankruptcy.
