I’m not sure what people get in the US for Social Security! If it’s similar to what Canadians get from $20 - $2000 a month. Most people can’t live on $2000 a month. If you don’t have about a million dollars to retire, you are in trouble! However, who has over a million $ to retire? Do you? I don’t!
I’m very curious to hear how Canada compares. Every day I see the elderly become homeless. How can someone in their 60s to 90s find a roommate? Of course my clients have been deemed incapable of managing their finances!

It was 1990. I took an article very similar to this one for a school assignment. I kept hearing anti-immigrant rhetoric from my classmates. I had to shut that shit down. How has it been 36 years since then and exactly the same garbage is being said? Alberta sucks & it’s not because of immigrants!
For alcohol, it’s already dangerous enough, no war on it required. When it was prohibited, people often died of the same reason people are dying from unregulated drugs. Overdoses and deaths from toxic ingredients! #NoMoreDrugWar #NicePeopleUseDrugs just like #NicePeopleUseAlcohol too!
I am not anti-drug, but I have never liked alcohol. I’ve been advocating for labels on alcohol for decades! It also causes brain damage! What drug is safer than alcohol? All of them including heroin, cocaine and even methamphetamine. But when a war is involved, everything becomes more dangerous!
I’m not sure how many times I have asked myself the same question! I just keep saying to the TV, I’m so sorry! How can this be real?

When the “story” was first reported, I was absolutely devastated! Yes, I full on cried. Not due to receiving safer supply! I cried bc I knew that it was all bullshit! Pure lies! Lies that would successfully destroy any progress made to end the 120 year #WarOnDrugs!

It took me at least 5 years to get a handle on it. Now, I love being bored. It means my options of what to do are limitless. Yesterday, I got bored, so I ended up staining my coffee table again. Turns out I love painting and renovating. I never would have figured that out had I not been bored! 3/3
IMHO, boredom causes so many long term issues if not managed effectively. When I was seriously mentally ill, boredom was a blessing as it meant my brain was working okay. When you are chronically suicidal it’s hard to be bored. When my SI started getting better, boredom was rampant. 2/3
When I worked at the detox, boredom was a huge challenge. Clients would expect staff to entertain them b/c they had no capacity to deal with it. How many people left because they were bored? The thing is we need boredom in our lives & we have to know how to manage that emotion! 1/3
My New Year’s wish list for Vancouver.
1) Remember collectively that #harmreduction works
2) Harm reduction is only needed due to the war on drugs (WODs)
3) Provide a non-medical model supplying a regulated product to anyone that wants it (above 16)
4) Bring humane goals back to the table.
If you want two-tier healthcare, go to the US. I lived in the US for 1/2 year. I watched a friend have an asthma attack. After 3 days, they went to the hospital & came home with a $5000 puffer. Do you want that? Healthcare should not be for corporate profits! Sign the petition if you have a ❤️!
I have had access to cannabis compassion clubs since 2005. That certainly made a huge difference as I no longer worried about where I would get it. I also faced less stigma and discrimination but that’s likely because I moved to BC.
I always knew that #Cannabis helped with my #SuicidalIdeation (SI). I am not sure if I would be alive if it wasn’t for #Cannabis! I saw psychiatrists since I was a young. Nothing they did helped like #Cannabis, #Ketamine and #MDMA! Granted the real savour was #EMDR!
If it’s genetic, why am I no longer suffering from Bipolar, Severe Suicidal Ideation, Borderline Personality, Dissociative & Substance Use Disorder? I was told my entire life that I was going to be sick! But I got treated for trauma that I was born with. If it was genetic, would that be possible?
I’ve came to this conclusion decades ago! Why has this not been discussed more? It is the most obvious thing in the world!
