In Minnesota you are either the goose or the prey.

Coworker: You can't put 2 cups of water in a 1 cup container.
Me: You can if the container is wide enough that the meniscus can hold the excess.
Sarcasm is my one of my last coping mechanisms.
One of the worst aspects of being in an environment where there is more work than bodies is that you are put in a situation where you are expected to excel, but any effort to make things work well means you take on too much and end up falling short because human.

Not everything developed off of a trunk is GitFlow... I am so tired of everyone using that term. Feature branch development is fine, release branch development is fine, whatever branching strat you want is fine. BUT STOP CALLING IT GITFLOW!!!!
A lush forest background with a long thick cut branch in the foreground with a little panda draped over with their tail facing forward and their head peeking from under the branch on the other side looking very trapped and not very happy.
Dirty Data makes sad Pandas.

Congratulations image for passing the renewal of the Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate exam.
Renewed my Azure Security Cert for one more year. At least this keeps me reading. But I really need to work on getting a couple new ones.
Today I was reminded that you can't have a lucky catch unless you put something out there to catch it.
All I can say is: if your idea of a sidecar does not involve network isolation and resource management, you really need missed a couple of paragraphs in your TL;DR.
For those in the DevOps community who might remember some of my questions... I am now trying to fix another custom Service Mesh that someone thought they could homebrew.
Left Image [Labeled junior product manager]: Crying trollface with text " Listened to 3 tech podcasts at 2x speed, still doesn't fully understand what Kubernetes does." Right Image [labeled me (basically god)]: Dudebro facing trollface with text "Read TLDR for 5 mins, casually explained Kubernetes at lunch, now my team acts like I invented it."
Saw this meme today and immediately recognized the irony in it, so I had to share.
If you think you understood k8s in 5 minutes, you should not be allowed near a production instance... EVER.
This week I had to bring up LaunchDarkly and Istio... I feel feature flagging and service management are still undiscovered in some areas.
So, now I know what Lancer is; I know it is compatible with Foundry, I know someone who creates cool maps and content for it... Just what I needed, another hobby.
But seriously, so glad I found out about this, I am tired of fantasy ttrpg stuffs and books, they just don't do well by me.
Had an awesome time at nerd nite talking about the wrong way to use a home lab.
Thank you for the opportunity and it was great to hear the other speakers and actually get out and socialize with people.
A zoomed in look at the MSP metro, with a 30-40 flags indicating ICE/CBP activity.
A broad view of the NYC metro, including all 5 boroughs, Newark, a grip of NY and NJ suburbs, and part of Long Island. There are about 7 flags indicating ICE/CBP activity.
CPB is saying there are only 500 ice agents left in MN. Behold, a visual aid to how how much havoc 500 agents can still cause. Maps show the Twin Cities metro and the NYC metro. Anyway, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. #Minneapolis #iceout
Never underestimate the chaotic weather we will have during March. It may be 80s, it may be below zero. Rain? Why not; snow? OK, and it might have some thunder, lightning, or even a little tornado thrown in...
This feels like a very uncomfortable Lyle Swan paradox. Do I need to refresh my Tomcat skills or are we using a different managed runtime service collector? Maybe rust in this loop? Is it still too early to reinvent xgnix?
OK, it looks like I may be doing a thing...
Thanks for sharing this @annieoranne.bsky.social, who knows, I am not saying I am throwing my hat in, but I will say talking to a bunch of needs about nerdy stuff sounds like a break I could use...
Still a need! ๐๐ป
Is anyone looking to buy a car? ๐ Neighbors are helping some folks who are leaving (their husbands got deported; they're following ๐) There are two for sale. $3,500 each. Let me know and I'll put you in contact with said neighbors

Please share, because we need to help each other out during this insanity.
Came here wondering how that was a choice. Pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. ๐
Can confirm.
Wish I saw this before we ended up in the north suburbs... Glad I saw it before we are leaving.
Today was a weird day to get pushed off tiktok and coming back here... I needed a distraction to focus on work. But life is more important. And the new terms are so toxic it is no longer safe to have the app on my phone. How ironic.
Seriously, they have never been to an actual hardware store or shopped online.
The mental gymnastics to still make us out to be the problem amazes me.

So, the more I deal with the competitive and paternal ownership infighting, the more I believe we need to switch from a team model to a CO-OP model.
