For those wondering: the fish are placeholders (shout out once again to @kenney.nl's asset packs). I wanted something very obviously placeholder so I wouldn't forget to replace them later.

Finally back to adding new features to Computer Mouse after a couple weeks of rewriting and optimization. Now got a working in-game shop for components, and the physics on items has been completely reworked!
Parapa the Rapper doing Linked In Park "One thing I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try"
Understandable tbh.
What did they do now? Or is this just in general?
Steamed Hams is old enough that he feels conflicted because everyone younger than he is has no emotional attachment to the simpsons golden age and everyone slightly older than him can talk exclusively in simpsons quotes for hours
Go back BACON!
On the bright side, built a developer console. Weirdly excited about this, and it's already made testing so much easier!
Started working on Computer Mouse after a short break, had an idea on how to make it easier to handle the random generation, should just be a quick fix.
So I've spent the last five days rewriting most of the game.
I need to get back into Blender at some point.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility!!
Had to sell a couple tickets for the Droupout Live show in Birmingham this June, if anyone's interested: secure.ticketmaster.co.uk/rs/1F006289F...
I FOUND IT
Like, not even being a hipster or an audio quality purist. Intuitive interface, no distractions, no ads, no internet required. It does one thing and it does it well. That and a speaker dock that's *only* a speaker dock has made music listening enjoyable.
I got a classic iPod for Christmas and it's genuinely improved my music listening experience.
You will love our indie game if you enjoyed:

How can I finally defeat the demon king when there's one pinecone left to collect?
I've been taking my time with TotK to try and complete as much of the side content before I beat the main game. I'm missing one shrine, and it's killing me.
Super motivated to work on Computer Mouse and really excited about some tech projects I've been working on, but can't do either today coz I have to pack.
Finally, someone made Bugsnax look good
wait, fuck, this is gorillaz
But why would you need carefully crafted visuals when you can simply press button and make the perfect mean average* industry visuals over the top for only a lot of resources and also it sucks?
* average as determined by genAI developers and shareholders
The problem is that artists are focusing too much on things like "aeathetic" and "visual direction" and not on the big picture which is that their game could simply look worse at higher resolution. It's better because it's more.
If computer parts weren't expensive, more people could access them and maybe make even cooler shit than a filter that makes your conventionally attractive character look a bit more conventionally attractive.
It would be cool if they stopped inventing stupid shit that keeps computer parts insanely expensive
You have to understand, we have the technology. Sure, the technology makes things look worse, but what are we supposed to do? Not use the technology?
i like it when video games are not afraid to look like video games
I need someone to remind me what the thing I remembered I needed to do about 5 seconds before I fell asleep last night is. I remembered that I needed to remember it, but not what it is.
Got a tooth extracted today, cant eat solid food and YouTube seems to be showing me exclusively ads for fast food. This is evil.
A screenshot of a videogame, showing low-poly computer components inside a computer.
A screenshot of a videogame, showing a low-poly stick of computer memory and a processor, both with bright flat colours and a thick black outline.
Been taking a break from programming in mechanics to do some visdev, work out how I want the game to look. Think I'm leaning towards a cleaner low-poly look, though haven't yet started with proper textures.
