On Monday, I saw him in Time Limit. Fantastic performance. Legal drama. Widmark plays a military prosecutor trying to uncover why an accused officer of treason (Richard Basehart) won't defend himself. Good film. Directed by Karl Malden!
Claire Trevor mini-marathon today on #TCM. Starting with #TheAmazingDrClitterhouse. Here she recalls why she was billed above Humphrey Bogart.

If you look closely, the pattern is rows of light blue birds sitting on wires on a dark blue background—tribute to Hitchcock or Leonard Cohen, take your pick. #TCM #NoirAlley #TCMParty
I like the French #DarkPassage poster more, although both are great. Trying to talk my wife into #FilmNoir posters for our newly renovated TV room. #TCMParty, help me out with a convincing argument. LOL

Recorded the 1953 Barbara Stanwyck crime flick #Jeopardy and screening it now. Haven't seen it in about ten years. Just over an hour long. Perfect for an early Monday evening.

Found a role Raymond Burr was the good guy (before Perry Mason): Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956): Burr played a reporter who is the protagonist and narrator in the Americanized version of the film

Yes.
And how about John Lennon & George Harrison? He provided the voices for both Beatles in the 1965 cartoon
Wish he was on more often

It's a fascinating story. Leeds' finance dumped her and she got hooked on heroin all while she was in jail. She appeared in only one movie afterwards, an anti-drug picture. She did work the nightclub scene for years... and would later study religion, establish a church and work on helping the needy.
In Kim Morgan's fantastic review she wrote that there was a certain homoeroticism in the needle scene. I didn't feel it. Any of you guys out there?

Best lines:
Milner: I’m too young to die. How about you?
Cardigan: Too well-known.
Milner: Well, if you do get killed, I’ll make sure you get a 1st-rate funeral in Hollywood, at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
Cardigan: I’ve already had it. My last picture died there.
