“we found that 78% of authors (of studies on ABA) had a conflict of interest (COI)
Some worked in ABA clinics, some offered paid consulting to other ABA providers, and some did both
Almost all papers (93%) had at least one author with these kinds of connections.”

Agreed. I think there are those who don’t think so, but it is clear that the SNP is going to win a big majority.
I will vote for the SNP - because they actually do care about Scotland. Unlike Labour and the Tories who only care about South of England.
We moved to Scotland last August and no, Scotland is not a mess. It is a well run country. We pay more tax here, but there are few objections about that. They have improved the benefits that people get wherever they can. Most of the problems in Scotland are down to National govt.
Reform UK today says it wants to end the equality act of 2010 which is the primary legal framework protecting disabled people from discrimination in the UK #dontvotebigots
'The new rules won’t simply mean a longer wait for ILR. They will mean many people don’t qualify for ILR at all and have to leave the country'. @jamesbowes01.bsky.social on the government's earned settlement proposals ukandeu.ac.uk/remigration-...
I am glad we got ILR. I wouldn’t qualify for it now - as a dependent.
Turning Point is now under the control of his wife and she is a real piece of work.. watched a documentary on her life. She is extreme - Charlie Kirk was too.
He is a bought man, not in control of the NHS. Streeting has taken bribes - I don’t understand this nonsense about “donations”.
Yes
It’s striking to see bipartisan moves in the US Congress to block President Trump from seizing control of Greenland.
But our government is not being realistic about the nature of the Trump regime, still talking of "close partner and ally".

"We feel like cattle prodded into colluding with system that prizes exam performance above all else, for sake of school results & international league tables?"
Yes. Policy @greenparty.org.uk - abolish Sats, abolish Oftsed, make education for life not just exams

Lots of very crazy stuff. And dots finally connected with all the stuff I heard from the pulpit growing up.
All I can say is a lot of the things I learned were pure heresy. The Manifested Sons of God doctrine, and a whole lot more.
I now understand why I rejected so much in my 30s.
I have been listening to podcasts about the roots of the Word of Faith movement. It is hair raising stuff. Also been learning about the New Apostolic Renewal/Reformation in the USA. All tied to Christian Nationalism. The Kardashian family were involved through the Full Gospel Businessmen Association
Wow.
@xianjaneway.bsky.social did you see this? Phillip Yancey in an 8 year affair, gets caught and quits ministry.

I just need to buy a decent braai that won’t rust! 🤣 They are not cheap!
Santa did bring me some biltong & droewors! And some tomato Fritos!
I told my wife we are going to braai next Christmas! That is what we did for years on Christmas Day. I miss that. Living in Scotland may make that difficult, maar ‘n Boer maak ‘n plan. I still have my potjies I brought over!
It is a disgrace that patients are being treated like this. If you get a private dx, it is not recognised by the NHS - even when it is a psychiatrist working private & the NHS. If you are diagnosed overseas, no dice. What a mess.
Yesterday I had a telephone appointment with a GP for a referral for a medicine review for Lisdexamphetamine meds. I haven’t had one since Dec 2023. GP didn’t want to prescribe meds I have been on for 7 years, but I advocated for myself. Getting my meds tomorrow.
It is actually significantly under-diagnosed. Has been for decades. This study shows how under-diagnosed in adults.
If the government won’t admit Brexit’s damage, an independent Royal Commission must.
A calm, forensic case from former MEP Andrew Duff.
Disabled children are having to wait for nearly four months to receive benefit payments due to government delays, with hardly any applications being processed on time according to the latest figures.

NEW: Fears over upcoming SEND reforms have led more parents to request formal support for their children, according to reports from councils
The rise came after a govt adviser suggested that rights to SEND support could be curtailed

Absolutely 100% - every single word of this.

The Twitter algorithm is completely broken. It is fast becoming unusable.
Only 5 days left until the petition closes on 9th October. Will you help us to protect the rights of children with special educational needs and disabilities? It would be amazing if we could get over 130,000 signatures. #SaveOurChildrensRights

Good piece from Chaminda, and from what I can tell, govt isn't exactly learning from its past mistakes
Very limited (if any) outreach done since - not just on the specifics, but to address the really widespread anger and frustration that spilled out indirectly with the welfare rebellion
