A lot of folks have learned in recent years to stop believing in Democrats. Let's be like Sen. Louise Lucas & give them reason to believe again.

A reminder while Republicans bitch about Dems finishing the redistricting fight they started: they have full control of gov’t— they can pass a law banning gerrymandering any time they want. They won’t. Republicans aren’t mad gerrymandering exists; they’re mad that they’re not the only ones using it.
”How is this legal” is a really funny thing for a republican to say in 2026
Now, you might say, "What about all the knowledge we'd lose if we push all the abusive geniuses out of academia?!"
But I'd counter and say, "Well, what about the knowledge we've already lost from the budding scholars whose careers they've derailed with their abuse?"
In the right-wing conception, the left is simultaneously illegitimate & an "elite" whose approval and acceptance they desperately crave.
Also, i want to point out that Alex Karp is half fucking Black. Like, we are in fucking la la land at this point.
surely no army in military history has ever been laid low by disease, a famously uncommon problem among people living in enforced close quarters
In Memory of Ernst Toller The shining neutral summer has no voice To judge America, or ask how a man dies; And the friends who are sad and the enemies who rejoice Are chased by their shadows lightly away from the grave Of one who was egotistical and brave, Lest they should learn without suffering how to forgive. What was it, Ernst, that your shadow unwittingly said? O did the child see something horrid in the woodshed Long ago? Or had the Europe which took refuge in your head Already been too injured to get well? O for how long, like the swallows in that other cell, Had the bright little longings been flying in to tell About the big friendly death outside, Where people do not occupy or hide; No towns like Munich; no need to write? Dear Ernst, lie shadowless at last among The other war-horses who existed till they’d done Something that was an example to the young. We are lived by powers we pretend to understand: They arrange our loves; it is they who direct at the end The enemy bullet, the sickness, or even our hand. It is their tomorrow hangs over the earth of the living And all that we wish for our friends; but existing is believing We know for whom we mourn and who is grieving.
Auden's "In Memory of Ernst Toller" been jangling in my head lately
"but existing is believing / We know for whom we mourn and who is grieving."
Once again "the death of the West" meant "the death of my secret bank account."
Screenshot from Mastodon, white text on black background: Erik Uden @ErikUden@mastodon.de Once libraries are nonexistent any modern fascist movement wouldn't even have to burn books, but flick one switch and they'd be remotely deleted from your Amazon Kindle or similar digital "library". Capitalists are already building the infrastructure to do this through DRM, so stop believing tech is apolitical - the defunding of libraries and paywalling of information are all part of this.
A reminder during #NationalLibraryWeek, libraries are our best and last defense against the fascist monopoly on knowledge and information

Yeah. "I disagree with the Court's legal analysis" is one thing, but "the Court isn't using legal analysis to decide cases" is another. The latter is no longer in the realm of law and should not be treated as if it is.
I like how the fish in the picture is like
Yesssss oh fuckkkkkk as he listens to the chorus of Sister Christian
THE NONSTOP WINNING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES
I just need to staple two tech-bro adjacent things together that have never been stapled together before and use words like "agentic" and "blockchain" and then I can make my millions siphoning money from the quarter-zip fleece vest class
Get you someone who looks at you the way this cheetah is looking at this antelope and OH SHIT 🫣, never mind!

The currently escalating tech backlash must be put in the context of:
“people have been listening to the most insufferable techbros in the world gleefully threaten everyone else with mass unemployment for over 6 years, and they’re sick of their shit”
Someday, with luck and hard work, she will have a name too.

Katie Miller is garbage. Man!
I’ve been wondering this for a while and it’s not a rhetorical question (I would actually love if the answer was yes): have any Dems said they will stop every cent going to this Nazi surveillance company the second they take back Congress?
Note the implication that those who speak using the language of social justice are *not people*. Black and Indigenous people, in particular, tend to be careful around using the language of the oppressor, as do many who are marginalized or on the receiving end of the justice system stick.
