perhaps it deserves to die if it can only be supported by blood money

a bear vacuuming a floor as a japanese salaryman looks on in terror
found out about the manga kuma gurashi which is like those ones where a manic pixie dream girl comes into a salaryman's life and starts doing all his domestic chores for him to heal his heart except in this one it's a realistically drawn bear and the salaryman is terrified on every single page
Oh hell yeah, some more weird ass stuff from Karin Dreijer. I liked "Deep Cuts" (2003) much better, but there's some good songs on this album too.
somewhat related, one of my favorite tracks w/ her is this collab with Röyksopp, from album "The Understanding" (2005).

Inshallah they don’t find him
Comic of the beetle from the cover of Massive Attack's "Mezzanine" meeting the crab from the cover of The Prodigy's "Fat of the Land".
Hi this joke is for me
These games were developed by Harmonix, who later went on to find huge success with Guitar Hero and then Rock Band!
this kept happening! OC SuperTones, Five Iron Frenzy, Insyderz, etc. Lure you in with some ska horns and then BAM! jesus freak'd!
This is not like a huge endorsement or anything, but playing Blink-182's "Rock Show" on Amplitude (PS2, 2003) is a peak rhythm game experience, whereas Rilo Kiley doesn't appear at all in there
it just takes you to the wikipedia page for Sandy Hook
douglas i am sorry but in what world is zelda "underrated"
people on this site trying to fit the Molly Shah stuff into the only framework they know ("left vs right") is so funny to me. "I don't want to get scammed" is not a political position! but depending on you ask, maybe it's actually proof you're MAGA / a shitlib / a cynical leftist / the 1% / etc
But enough talk. Have at you!
oh damn I liked that Dntel album! Weirder, more noisy and glitchy than Dumb Luck (and no tracks like "Roll On" alas) but "The Dream of Evan and Chan" was good + crucially led to formation of "The Postal Service"
Goomba fallacy meme, where the goombas are saying "ugh more indie stuff, this just puts me to sleep! rock harder!" / "this metal album rocks TOO hard, dial it back!" / "oh, you think you're Radiohead now?" / "a drum machine??? be serious! where's the guitar". Left goomba thinks "I believe in all these opinions simultaneously, I'm a stupid walking contradiction" and says "Everyone on this website hates music except for me"
I love chatting with y'all about albums but I think I am suffering from this every day

Why do the Japanese like their buns askew (2026)
I follow the one on mastodon and it is primarily either broken coffee makers or toilets
Also, fantastic cover drawing by the AI artist. At first I thought you'd put the real cover image by mistake!
I first heard The Glow, Pt. 2 last year and absolutely loved it. Friend described it as "an album for welcoming in fall, listen on a chilly day". The album released on Sept. 11, 2001. My notes were "A real journey but I thought this was great" but since then it has really really grown on me.
newsletter voters aside, I do think Pulp is more of a household name than Les Savy Fav, and people may well choose to vote for the band they know and enjoy - album unheard
(I also liked Doves)
I really really really loved Elbow's "The Seldom-Seen Kid" (2008) and would write a DC for it if we ever get to that year
yes, i did repent for the error of my ways :P

yeah I just put the whole thing on and this album fucks - already familiar with "Name of the Game" and "The Winner", but "Over the Line" is an absolute banger wow
Also for millennials, basically the soundtrack to a billion Playstation games. I would've supported this pick for sure!
I am sorry for invoking Scorpia before, she was clearly better than this LOL
if you learn anything from my f-shaded and t-mapped articles, it should be this: * Form + fidelity + framerate = the eye of the **patrician** * Texture-mapping + color depth = the eye of the **peasant** * Fully-3D polygonal = **patrician** * 3D + sprite-scaled = **peasant** * Sprite super-scaler = **patrician** Refer to my Wing Commander Overview for more **patrician-peasant** comparisons.
like it's a weird combination of obviously "PC Master Race" chudspeak, but about things that are complete and total nonsense, so you can't really even be mad about it
**1991 Texture-mapped Games** I would like to preface this chronological coverage by declaring that **texture-mapping is overrated.**
this stuff is so wrong and spiteful, but like, what can you even do with someone who says "actually 3d video games should not have textures"
