pretty much talking about my experience here, but all my artist friends agree. with every fandom i made merch for i had this problem, it's always the "what about me?" public. some people are nice and instead of demanding they ask if you will considering drawing x or y character, which i appreciate 💔

i could understand the frustration if it were a show/videogame/whatever with only 4 characters and they excluded one of them, but what if there are 30? 50? put yourself in the artists shoes for a moment please. its possible, yes, but people have lives and some of us cant do that

imagine spending hours, days, working on merch trying to include as many characters as possible because theres just too many and when someone sees your work the only thing they say is "erm, wheres this other guy?", like seriously. it doesnt feel good.

(from twt) if you see an artist sharing their merch and all you say to them is “wheres (character)?” or “they never make merch of (char)” or "of course (char) wasnt included" i hope you understand that isnt going to encourage them and theyre going to feel like youre devaluing their work.
