Wally and Lone are back in an action packed game, full of mystery, giant scorpions and an evil witch who wants them dead.
Warning: flashing and strobing lights.
It's heartbreaking and not something I'd wish on anyone. Watching the person you love become a stranger to you. It's a pain that and Roger captures in it's rawness. 5/5. End.
We wanted her to stay in her some as much as we could because it was familiar and her normal. We paid for nurses to come look in on her and help her with certain tasks. But as much as we tried, the day came were we couldn't keep her safe and she couldn't stay at home any more. pt6.
All the fears we had over the years, the worries. The unsettling moments you'd learn about. Like the time my nanna, forgetting she had food coming and went into the village, did her shopping and asked strangers, "Who's going to take me home?". pt5.
Just over a year ago today my nanna passed away and, this game opened up some old wounds for me and, got me to cry at least once. As someone who has seen what something like dementia and alzheimer's can do to a person you love so much, it's frightening to see the world from their eyes'. pt4.
This game shows you glimpses of Sofia's life and as you piece the puzzles together, it becomes clearer and clearer what is really going on. And the tragedy of the situation. pt.3.
The art style is beautiful, blending a mixture of pencil drawn animation and watercolours. It also uses familiar aspects of online life as part of it's game play. Such a clicking buttons in certain orders to complete a goal or completing a CAPTCHA like event to try and log in to a computer. pt2.

Trigger warning: screen distortion and frightening imagery. Flashing lights. Discussions and depictions of memory lose and mental health conditions. End.

When you wake up to get ready for school, you find your dad fast asleep on the sofa. But when you look closer, you realize it's not your dad at all. There's a strange man in your house and you don't know what to do. pt1.
Without going into spoilers, I'll simply say this, I really liked this game. 4.5/5. End.
I often feel games like Dear Esther are a marmite type of game. You either love this game or you hate it. And I actually love this game. It was short, bittersweet and often very beautiful. Especially the cave segments. pt2.

Dear Esther is a game about love, loss and letting go, even when it's hard. You arrive on an abandoned island with only your curiosity to guide you. pt1.

You find yourself on a mysterious island. Abandoned, save for the remnants of those who came before. In the distance, you can see a glowing red beacon. pt1.
I am glad that I played this game, as uncomfortable as it made me at times. 5/5. End.
I feel like anyone, like myself, who works with children or has children, should play this game. While by no means is this game a substitute for safeguarding training, it does give a more human insight into this dark part of reality than a list of bullet-points on a PowerPoint ever could. pt7.
You can either, get the foot notes of the memory, the transcript to go over any missing details or play/replay the memory. You're then introduced to the various characters and are tasked with picking dialogue options to piece together the story. pt6.
The gameplay is in two parts: one is an interactive story as you traverse the memories and, the other is an amusement park management mini game. You place a ride in the park and with it comes a memory. pt5.
Each memory comes with a summary of what happens in the memory and upfront warnings, and a way to skip it without loosing out on the story. pt4.
One thing I must praise this game for is it's trigger warning system and how it is utilized. Whenever you open the game(unless opted out of) it will remind you of your options and how you can navigate heavier or upsetting content. pt3.
While not aiming to speak for all experiences of victims of incest and childhood sexual abuse, the game does a valiant effort of showcasing different stories. And how easily instances of grooming can fly under the radar. pt2.

Wednesdays mostly centers around Tim as he replays his old childhood video game, Orca Park. But as he plays, memories come flooding back to him of the sexual abuse he dealt with as a child by his older cousin. pt1.
