Where daemons are creations of the Divine, demons are creations of the mundane. They often occur when a mundane creature learns to use magic, or materialize from strong emotion and special events.
Like daemons, they vary greatly in strength and intelligence.

Daemons - magical creatures made by the Divine, often for a purpose.
Imps are a good example, being servants of the Court of Fire. They serve as messengers and executioners of their deities' will. Like the gods of their court, they feed upon strong emotion.

As such, their lands consist mostly of micromanaged orchards, fields of flowers, and crops. And the occasional decorative forest - often with undergrowth so tame it resembles a lawn.
They also achieved these landscapes by burning away most of the oldgrowth forests. The trolls didn't like that.
The Valkowl of Gammeland have a long history of conflict with the trolls, mostly over territory. While the trolls see themselves as wardens of nature, protectors and guides, the Valkowl consider themselves gardeners who must sculpt and maintain their land to fit their needs.
Flightless - Least respected of the Flights, but perhaps the most vital, as their landbound nature sees a lot of them becoming farmers and craftsfolk.
Then there's the featherless and the basilisks, but we don't talk about those. They're monsters and bad omens you see. Wildly feared and shunned.
Graceneck - Long necked folks with the plumage of cranes, geese, swans, and other throatsome birds.
Smallwing - The smallest kind of Valkowl, featuring the plumage of sparrows, doves, and ye variety of tits.
These 5 categories are referred to as the 'Flights' and are as follows:
Mythborn - Valkowl with innate magic. They are considered the pinnacle of their kind, as magic signifies a connection to the Divine.
Sharpclaw - Obligate carnivours with plumage resembling birds of prey.
They're a haughty, arrogant, and superstitious People who in their pursuit of superiority often shoot themselves in the foot. They live by a sort of caste system based on plumage, with 5 main categories.
The Valkowl of Gammeland are all about performance and superiority. Life is a stage where they learn to perform in order to impress and prove their worth. The more complex and convoluted something is, the more worth it has, as it clearly shows off the intellect of the participants.
Just found out about 'threads' so I'm gonna info dump about Valkowl now.
They're one of the most commonly seen species of People on Gammeland, alongside the trolls, humans, goblins, and Halfpelts, and rule over a vast territory dubbed the Cherrial Empire.

This week's CoC post shall feature Gammeland, the map that more or less started the whole project. The first lore book will be focusing on it and its history.
The map is likely to undergo a few changes before release (such as the faction shields. Those are getting updates)

It's downright sinful that I haven't tried a wireless vaccum cleaner until today.
It ran so smooth, it was satisfyingly heavy in my grip, it had no annoying trunk and lump to pull behind me. No too-short wire that you gotta pause and reconnect to a new outlet as you move.
I'm a changed man. Wow
So I was gonna work on a territory chapter right. Big ol chunk of text. A text I will enjoy writing. A text that's very high on the priority list of things that needs doing.
I spent two days making these little guys' bestiary entry instead. Oh well, they're important too. Kinda..
