Like things happen, and he was with us for 13 awesome years, but he always carried the weight of his shaky beginnings. People who think it doesn’t affect the animals are fooling themselves.

I don’t know what this is referring to specifically, but I agree. My dog (Rufus, RIP good boy) had three homes before us. First one had a child with unexpected allergy. Next ones just didn’t understand the energy of a young Labrador. He had a lot of anxiety and separation issues as a result.
