Result apart I enjoyed my trip to Fratton Park. So much better atmosphere than most grounds I've been to in recent years.

Cracking ground in decent condition with fans that really get behind their team.

It's just a mystery why they can't sort out protection of the pitch from the weather.

Barnsley, Coventry, Norwich.

3 massive away wins of the McKenna era I've been lucky enough to witness.

Games when you believe that promotion is probable rather than just a possible.

I can remember the 80s, the American airbases, the space race, the fear of being blown apart in a nuclear armageddon.

Weird mess of retro feelings tonight.

Love you all xx

@talk90stome.bsky.social a great This Life episode which in a weirdly serendipitous way has popped up on a long drive to a 50th birthday school reunion.

Those hazy days of shared tatty houses and complexly simple (love) lives.

I'm feeling happily old.

I'm happy to change my stance when proved otherwise.

But you don't allow a political party to use your club in this way, and then fail to call them out on it, if you don't support them in some way.

Reputation in tatters until Ashton is sacked/resigns.

Just 20% of fans, sponsors and players thinking twice will be devastating for a league where fine margins make the difference.

It's been a horrible insight to what's going to happen to the UK should Refrom gain many more seats in parliament, let alone be anywhere near power.

It's gutting to see my club run by Farage sycophants. It's totally against the clubs history and values.

Farage long gone, lasting damage done.

Shout out to @bluemondayitfc.bsky.social

Navigiating this with friends and family is bad enough...having to make your way through a podcast without blowing yourself up is impressive!

I guess we all want the same thing, a return to the Ipswich way

I've swung to AshtonOut with the coverup.

Can you ever stop supporting your football team? Is it really a lifelong pledge of loyalty? BBC Sport asks whether a fan can really stop supporting their football team.

I draw at line at my club being run by Farage fawning liars.

Heart gone, magic gone, trust gone.

Ashton Out. #ITFC

Reform, lets use your club for lunch and some nice PR vids and photos.

Also Reform, now lets troll everyone associated with the club.

Ashton's been played and ruined, with the rest of us just collateral damage.

3 weeks ago 1 0 0 0

Why is Ashton not calling out the abuse our club is getting? The trolling from Reform.

He's either the CEO or he's not? We are being battered and he's vanished.

Where are our leaders? Who is standing up for us?

He needs to go now. Not next month, not in the summer. NOW!

A totally unnecessary blowing up of our long history of being a friendly family club.

We now known as the club that danced with Farage and tainted by everything he represents.

Ashton must go! I've lost the magic, the trust and the uniting force that football is supposed to bring me. โ˜น๏ธ

He's making us a laughing stock.

Dances with the right wing, pretends he didn't, gets battered by the right wing.

Go Ashton, go. If the plan is you're leaving at the end of the season so say.

You don't need the board to review.. you did this!

He appears humble and sorry but I have no idea what for? Why can't he admit what he did?

This will remain an open wound until he's gone.

At this point I feel I've lost my football club. The club aided Reform in an election. The magic has gone, the trust has gone.

I do hope that everyone who emailed Mike Ashton also copied in other people of influence.

Luckily my frank and open email to him would have been seen by people who are not Farage syophats.

So if you know a sponsor, a media figure, anyone at all who has skin in the game here... Copy them in!

Nothing like tearing your club in half whilst battling for second place.

Well done Ashton, if all this is true you really do deserve everything that's coming your way.

How can anyone be that stupid?

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

Oh at least there is #BBCQT from Clacton to cheer us up.

Maybe ITFC can feature as yet another example of how Farage is toxic for any mainstream brand.

Anyone heard from Mark Ashton yet?

Fear of backlash from the Farage fans I guess.

If you have a paper or podcast the last thing you want to do is alienate a vocal part of your audience.

Sadly ITFC have upset maybe 10-20% of its fan base and can't figure out how to apologise.

Anyone could see this would happen.

3 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

Thank you for the courage in speaking out. So far it's been down to fans and supporters groups to say something.

Perhaps through fear of upsetting the Reformer vote those related to the club with large audiences have remained silent.

This is not about Farage, it's about who we are as a club.

I wish I could access the site to read it.... But yes!!

The local press has finally come out and called for an apology.

Where are you Mr Ashton?

Has anyone seen Mike Ashton?

Or does he only appear when it's good news?

Someone has trashed OUR club. We need answers.

This is not going away!

Escape to victory had ITFC on the side of the allies.

iTFC is now on the side of Reform.

How the mighty have fallen.

(I'm happy to change my mind when the club grows a spine and explains this mighty cock up)

This is not going away...
.... Club seemingly silent now.

Plenty of us fans, life long, generational, blue and white blooded are utterly dismayed.

The neutrality has been ripped out of this club and the PR machine has yet to explain how we are now political broadcast fodder.

Only thing keeping me hopeful...

Someone will ask a question to someone in the club ecosystem and they will speak out.

Players, management, ex players and media voices cannot all hold the current ludicrous line.

The club still can't express an apology to fans upset by a divivise political figure being able to produce campaign materials at #ITFC.

We don't support a club for our goodwill be abused this way.

I'm gutted and grieving, a lifetime of support likely now over.

Well that's McKenna gone soon then.

Why would he want to associated with this shower of Farage sycophants.

#ITFC

The truth just hit home.

The club welcomed Farage and rolled out the red carpet.

They just can't say this out loud.

#ITFC what the fuck happened to you.

Success on the pitch is not worth this. I don't want to support Farage FC and I'll never encourage my son to.
