You talk like there’s not hundreds of them working at Microsoft that have to use Copilot under threat of being fired for being luddites…

• Success is separate from satisfaction with the work. Sometimes they line up, but just as often they don't.

• Success has more to do with luck than any of us would like to admit, but persistence and being great to work with gives you the most spins at the roulette wheel to see how it goes.

On one hand bad, on the other hand, well, it’s people working for Meta. Tough fukken break, innit?

This is a great thread about working in a creative industry

“Er, not how it should be done.” must be rough for any “AI-first” company that didn’t invest in designing its product much past a chat interface for the past 15 months.

Quite fun to watch it all happen from the sidelines, though, I’ll admit.

Pivoting a product and marketing hard towards providing fully autonomous Agentic AI for regulated product development — promising the Agents will be taking over requirements, specifications, risk management and testing — and then the FDA saying, most expectedly:

Right, that just sounds like a mess waiting to happen.

I mean here people would be weirded out first and foremost, and then likely not agree either (though fewer would think ”liability” first, but “it’s your damm kid”).

*mentally files this in his “all sorts of people out there” head-cabinet*

“M8 I can’t even read y u think Ima good wif dem digits??” then? 😬

(Not sure I have seen any political slo-mo trainwreck coming close to this mess, and I live in Austria and follow Austrian politics since Haider. This saga is getting into _weird_ territory by now.)

Without knowing the age, it does sound a bit like it could just be awkwardness about going to the men’s bathroom?

(Though also depends if it’s a large one with N stalls or one that one could just temporarily occupy etc)

Hoooo boy.

Only possible defence now is Starmer saying “M8, I am pretty in a suit and I wear glasses to look smart, but I can’t even read innit.” isn’t it?

Power without accountability: The Palantir manifesto The problems with our tech philosopher kings

New, from me: Take the Palantir manifesto seriously, if not literally.
It reveals that our tech philosopher kings want public money, but without public accountability. This creates a dilemma for governments unaligned with its techno-fascist vision. 🧵

There are Ex-Meta people out there who are saying OpenAI hiring people from Meta (whose work was mainly getting people hooked on the feeds) was done solely with, er, “engagement metrics” in mind, yes.

“You you are absolutely right!” was never a UX accident.

OpenAI & Co hired a ton of people from Meta, engagement and growth specialists.

When you’re in a billion dollar racket, chances of business-boosting “accidents” are really slim.

One thing I don't think I see talked about enough is how AI services like Claude Code are psychologically similar to gambling.

When you spend tokens you have a chance of a good result, with lots of smaller good results along the way to keep you hooked. No wonder some people say they're "addicted" 😬

…a bunch of numba-lumpas?

Some of the components I've built for RYBitten got pretty involved. A few sections now come with their own settings so you can really play with them :D

any features you are missing? Is there anything you would like to be able to export as a non dev?
