Today is my last day at my job. I was one of 400 who got cut on Friday. I was there for 16 years and in the end, I was just a number. 😥

The joys of being a cat-parent

Found this while cleaning out mom’s house. The very first record I ever owned, “Yellow Submarine” by The Beatles. Mom kept it all these years. 🥹

Mom is in her final days. She’s got the “death rattle” when she breathes which is a sure sign, according to the hospice folks. Just feeing all the feels tonight……😕

He does this with every delivery.

Apparently in Downtown Boston if you stay over your allotted parking time, they drop a satellite on your car.

Mom is actively dying in our local hospital right now. It’s her time but I’m learning just how expensive and complicated death can be in our modern era.

Looks even better with the lights installed!

Got this for Christmas. Took close to 40 hours to build it. It’s a tremendous model and it was oddly relaxing to put together.

"Country Road", German Valley Il. 12/4/2024. Much of rural Illinois looks like this; endless acres of farmed land, few trees and a farmhouse on the horizon. Being from a crowded New England city, such sites are novel to me and are completely fascinating.

I’ve had an absolute crap day dealing with a difficult elderly parent and this handsome fellow seems to know this. He is currently laying on top of me purring like a motor.❤️

One-room schoolhouse in German Valley, Il. Called "Wessels School", the building was built in 1871 and served students until 1955. Today it is preserved by the community of German Valley.

It was ten degrees at dawn this morning in Rockford IL. The Rock River froze overnight. 😳

I’m pleased to say that our little man here got a clean bill of health from the vet on Friday. She said he’s “purrrfect”. 😻
