Must share what www.threads.com/@bobbickford7 said, beautifully, about @stephenking.bsky.social: "Stephen King could scribble instructions for feeding his dog while he went on holiday. I'd recognize his voice, anywhere. He writes a paragraph, you smell his fucking soap, right behind you." - Perfect.

@abcnewsgo.bsky.social The next time he asks a reporter "Who do you work for?" before answering the question... PLEASE snap back with, "Who do YOU work for?" Pass it on.
I hope the link works for everyone. Californians in particular, please read. Everyone else: watch and learn as the best prepared state in the union buckles under the onslaught of climate change. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/10/c...
I was a theatre major and took Expository Writing. Taught me how to tell a story straight and improved my joke telling forever. It also may have taken the Vulcan mind-meld actors practice in becoming a character, blended this talent with straight-up storytelling, and turned me into a novelist. ๐ฉโ๐
Very tricky. I retitled my "Fair Game" as "Playing to Win" b/c when I got my rights back from Signet another book called "Fair Game" had just come out. A few readers were annoyed when they bought "Playing to Win" and realized they already owned it as "Fair Game." I did try to warn buyers, but...!
More irresistible love poetry from the brilliantly funny Brian Bilston.
So what's the last line? "But pineapple's ok, if you must." ?
LIFE HACK: Answer your phone "Hello you're on the air" and 99% of the time people will just hang up.
And as a geneaologist, trust me, the people who don't know their parents' birth dates or their mother's maiden name turn out to be the very people who fill out their death certificates. Incorrectly.
I was impressed that a character was named Honey because of her hair. Not because she was sweet or anything gooshy like that.
@lisibee815.bsky.social omg TRIXIE BELDEN ... your cover image just gave me a major flashback to my misspent childhood (under the covers, reading with a flashlight way past my bedtime)
Life is so unfair. :sigh:
Oh, how we contort ourselves in the name of Love! This made me LOL:
Ooh, a starter pack featuring my favorite storytelling time period. I'm delighted to be among these authors! Trying not to fangirl. :sips tea with feigned nonchalance: go.bsky.app/HPck55M

@karyngerrard.bsky.social Please consider me for your historical romance author list...! :waving:
Okay, I'm geeking out here, but I love this stuff. Regency era fashionable colors! Apparently "Russian flame" is just... peach. ๐ฉโ๐
Oooh, my favorite. Unrequited love, or two people who love each other but can't be together... so satisfying when these couples find their happy ending! You might try The Nobody by, ahem, me. Or The Fortune Hunter, again by me. ;) Happy hunting!
The Nothing-To-Be-Proud-Of Boys
@abigailreynolds.bsky.social Could you add me to your Regency starter pack, if appropriate? I've started one too, for authors and readers... is yours specifically for bloggers?
People are exhausted. Also stunned. Also afraid. This time, he said he was coming after us if we resisted. Many people are still trying to come to grips with that, decide what it means, and what to do about it if it means what we think it means.
Apparently an introductory post is expected. Um... :clears throat: I am the author of a dozen or so novels, a few plays, a weekly newspaper column, a couple of poems, and a novella, all of which have been published by somebody other than me. But self publishing is more fun. dianefarrbooks.com
Done!
Oh, honey, it is SO "on."
Oooh. For anyone who has wondered what the difference is between a landau and a barouche:
I've only been here a couple of days, searching through the underbrush with a flashlight. Have unearthed a few. Am hopeful that more are on their way!
My German nieces were here last week trying to explain the disbanding of the [three letters I absolutely cannot recall] party. Much earnest waving of hands. I remain baffled.
Here, this will calm you down. My husband with his kitten. You're welcome.
Get well soon, O brave Invalid Handle.
