Persona is good. Last of Us is good. Intro to both persona 5 and last of us 2 take way too long.

I can get the same view on my desktop background, who cares lol

But the 3rd person style of gameplay works I think. If this had more than 8 directions of movement, say, with an actual analog stick, and if you didn't need to go into first person to use missiles, this would feel pretty good. I also like the acceleration speed increase items, those are a good idea.

I finished Metroid Other M. It has a lot going for it, surprisingly, but the bad parts are *so* bad, they weigh the whole thing down. Controls, bad implementation of upgrades(that power bomb moment was truly dogshit), story isn't even coherent at times and the characterization of Samus is horrid.

I know there's a fan version of Metroid Other M that makes it better, but still, the original version...whoever thought it was a good idea to thrust you into first person whenever you need to use a missile, hopefully, was fired. The control scheme is the biggest blunder of the game.

I had a good two weeks off, replayed a lot of games I like, but it's about time to get back to the content machine.

BioShock is still great, but this time, that last third of the game felt especially weaker compared to the rest of the game. I haven't played this in a long time, so it was a great revisit overall, but that final boss is just such a weird tonal shift.

Finally got around to trying out Metroid Other M. I'm pretty early on, and yes absolutely, the story and characterization is NUTS...but I'm honestly not feeling like this is *bad*, more so *weird and interesting*. I think the mix of 2D and 3D spaces has legs, it's kind of intriguing.

@tinari.bsky.social Can someone at Housemarque please fix Nex Machina on steam? If your monitor has HDR, it overrides your windows settings and forces a very dim-looking HDR onto you, making the game look terrible. Some fixes the community have pitched aren't working. This is pretty rough.
