Can find barely any reference to it .. according to this (which is the only info I can find) it only operated from 1855 to 1885. Which makes it even more amazing the name lives on in the pub!

Fingers crossed your new house doesn't disappear into a disused mineshaft you've only just found out about 😂
Nice they retained the name really, even though the original pub, street and colliery are all presumably long gone!
Here you go ... turns out it is the name of a now demolished pub in the same area, which was named after the nearby Pool Dole Colliery!

RIP Desmond Morris.
I love the fact that he and the future Diana Dors were each other's first boyfriend / girlfriend when they were teenagers in Swindon. Here's his painting of the then Diana Fluck he did aged 18.

It’s poetic justice that Richard Curtis went forward in time and nicked the plot for ‘Yesterday’
Terrible historical bigamist, Gary Sparrow with his two wives for a publicity shot.
Nicholas Lyndhurst, who played history’s greatest monster in Goodnight Sweetheart, turns 65 today
The other one to get them mixed up with is Renford Rejects
Yes! A men's shed storyline would make a lot of sense. Particularly given they already have a (cider) shed they could use for the purpose!!
All feels a bit like "OK, it's mental health week. And now it's breast cancer week. And now it's ..."

Yes, shipping him off to Hungary is a good call for an outcome to this plot! Although Arthur Hughes has talked about how much he loves doing #TheArchers and clearly wants to continue.
Jossy’s Giants was BBC, written by darts legend Sid Waddell
Just discovered this megamix of all the different versions of the Jossy’s Giants theme tune. Including my favourite (“if they don’t score then what the heck, they’ll score tonight at the discotheque”). I have no memory of the Italian variant! #archivetv

Nice to be missed :)
Had a week away and been trying to catch up since!
As is Ruarhi (summerfolk at the National!)
Helped that I’m about 2 weeks behind so only just heard that conversation!
I see the actor is currently in the West End cast of The Mousetrap which may be an issue with his availability for #thearchers
Paul’s been mentioned a few times recently - “why doesn’t Rhuarhi move in with Paul” from Miranda, Brian claiming they are splitting up as an excuse for Rhuarhi’s demeanour etc.

More excited by the sudden appearance of the dude from Take On Me.

From the #ZCars annual I bought last week: I love these diagrams of how police communications infrastructure worked at the time! Also includes a #DoctorWho crossover! #ArchiveTV
