Also, how many channels does this guy have?!

This 25 minute video on Vegemite has absolutely no right to be so interesting and dive into so much history of nutrition.

Once had to modify a JS library for a large graph structure which was doing tons of wasteful allocations as it modified the graph. By caching and reusing vs wastefully throwing away pulled runtime down from like 20s to <100ms.
Side note I've become very wary of lots of throwaway allocations like that. Been bitten so many times by performance and memory issues with it. Obviously you can't do much if thats the way the library works, but yeah, just another way it bites ya.
Oh wow! yeah that's quite a difference! And yeah I'd expect some % of fluctuation between python versions anyway due to internal changes. But 200 vs 500-1000 is BIG!
That was an interesting write up. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any memory stats for after the fix? I didn't see anything absolute. Just curious to see how much the memory growth difference was.
Ahh yeah rubber band would be the same. About piercing the rubber, Only other thing I could think of would be try an oversized driver bit, or even a different shape driver so it doesn't pierce it as much, like a torx or hex?
Jar grips - foam sponges to help grip jar lids
I've never tried it but I've heard you can try putting one of those foam jar lid gripper things down and putting the screwdriver on it, and the friction is sometimes enough.
Just Watched 📽️: Project Hail Mary (2026)
Amaze Amaze Amaze! Visually fantastic. Good adaptation of the book. Small changes for comedic timing or to work better on film. I wasn't sure Ryan Gosling could pull off Dr. Grace, but very happy to be proved wrong.
Worth a watch: yes!

My brother designed and printed a case for this. Looks great!

Just Watched 🎬: Asteroid City (2023)
Interesting, funny but odd. I audibly said "wtf am I watching" at one point. Fantastic sets, camera work, minatures and transitions. Felt like I needed a YT breakdown to fully appreciate it.
Worth a watch: it's not for everyone. I enjoyed it.

Which part?
I will look into making a case later this week.
This used a waveshare pico epaper 2.9 display, and a pico w. Home Assistant monitors the solar and battery systems. The pico runs ESPHome and reads from HA.
When looking for display examples I found this great dashboard and modified it for my system.

Epaper display showing home solar and battery statistics.
Made a new status display for the home solar and battery system. The epaper display looks so good!
Not insurmountable, but definitely considerations when allowing recipients/"sellers" to setup payouts.
Like who vets and verifies that the registered people actually belonged to the team? How do you verify it's not a big money laundering scheme registered as a team?
I suspect it's "simple" from a tech perspective, but stuff gets complex when it comes to sending money to people online on a larger scale like this. Regulations and processes in particular.
Similar thing happened in 2008 and then for years afterwards constant complaints about a "serious shortage of seniors".... Yeah, who coulda seen that coming?
Her video explaining everything is here: youtube.com/watch?v=djluF6…
Her legal fund is here: gofund.me/45f72d8b7 I donated $1000 to support her cause, but sadly the situation hasn’t received much attention. Even if you can’t contribute, watching and sharing her video would help a lot.
I haven't had any sync issues yet, that'd be an instant unsub, that's a core feature. I was already using it way way less than I used to. It was the pop up that did it. I could tolerate it if I was a free user, but to be paying and still slapped with that EVERY load was nuts.
After 14 or so years, finally cancelling my paid dropbox sub. Literally every time I refresh the website I get this upsell.
Halloween week! Time for Vigo to make another appearance!
> But he claimed it wasn’t feasible to ask for consent before ingesting their work first.
"Asking for permission first would bankrupt the streaming media industry" - Napster probably should have tried this one.
Why are long lists so terrible online? Take a music playlist, it loads 20-30 songs at a time, and then you need to scroll to the bottom, and wait for the next batch to load. Just implement virtual scroll ffs. Count the items in the playlist, let me scroll to the real end, and then batch load that.
Yes, I believe on that side it's reversed to signal "advancing forward" as if it's trailing behind them rather than retreating.

This is just my little non-monetised personal blog. Imagine this across all the sites across the internet.
This was my most popular blog article that was on setting up Jenkins. It had stable traffic for 4 years prior to this.
Then you see people claiming referrals still come through:
