This kid Mel from my neighborhood was walking home from a party and hit the corner and just got shot up. Gone. Just like that. A teenager.

When I was like 14, there was a kid in the neighborhood who got beat unconscious and thrown on the train tracks. It was some gang shit. I used to see him everyday in school and then one day, nothing. At 32, I’m like wow, there was so much more for him to do. Like SO much has happened since 2007.

Every now and then I think about all kids who got killed when we were in middle school and HS…and how much LIFE has happened since then. It gets more and more heartbreaking as the years go by
