The President’s move to criminalize flag burning is unconstitutional. The Supreme Court has already ruled (Texas v. Johnson, 1989) that flag burning is protected free speech. Attacking the First Amendment doesn’t make us safer or stronger, it undermines our democracy. Nothing he will do will stop us from fighting in the streets, in the courts, and in the legislature.
