I feel this... couldn't go down to Florida for my maternal grandfather's viewing/funeral service a few days ago for precisely two of these reasons (lack of passport in correct name + safety concerns taking the 18 hour+ long bus down instead).
Furthermore, I feel like trying to 'punish' folks for not doing alt text also ignores how much energy it takes to try and translate something that made sense as an image into words. 'Requiring' that for all images would make it harder for some neurospicy people to share their art at all!
I'm one of these people who have some difficulty writing alt text for my more complex drawings. Especially when there are so many details that it becomes daunting to do so!
