Iβm with Kate. #StarTrek Prodigy still is, IMO, the best of all of the Paramount+ era, inclusive of SNW.
Creating a cohesive time travel story is hard, but this quasi-sequel to Voyager pulled it off with aplomb, inclusive of actually making Wesley Crusher compelling.
It and we deserved better.

Don't forget Guinan was knocking around in Mark Twain's time. No one knew she was an alien I suppose, but its kind of a first contact?

I love all the thought and explorations done for TMP even if none of it every materalized on screen. A lot of futurism went into the film. Much more than any later production.
If you see this, post a #startrek
Bond strolls unto M's office, impeccable in a Savile Row suit. Whilst discussing his latest mission with M, he pauses whilst talking, clears his throat and coughs up a charred, singed bit of Dou Dou Bunny, which he throws in the bin before carrying on as if nothing happened.

Yeah thats just lovely.
I've been listening to John Jackson Miller's Prey trilogy. Onto the 3rd one now. Its a really good thriller about the fallout in the House of Kruge after Genesis, and as Klingons can live a long time it's mostly TNG era. His actions are controversial but most Klingons take your view. Recommended.

One of the best things about Disco. Would like to see more about her in the novels etc. Here's hoping Mary Chieffo gets a bigger role in future ST. Very talented actor.

Love the D, that and the TOS/TMP enterprise were all there were when I was first getting into ST as a kid. A DS9 would be amazing though! Imagine a little Odo with his bucket! And an Ent D bridge/Engineering set which I would prefer to the ship itself. And a K'tinga and a B'rel! I'm going to be broke
She also does a lot with Big Finish. If you haven't seen the 1970s BBC series Survivors, she's the star of the first dozen episodes or so and it's amazing. I scared myself silly watching it during the pandemic.
Only 3 female Romulan commanders (?) on ST and all were brilliant. TOS, TNG and NEM.
Nami is one of my favourite things about modern Trek, love her scoring. It would have been great if they'd bundled season 2 and 3 OSTs as a big double album. I'd have paid for it!
And Prodigy has an amazing soundtrack, would love to get season 2.
Hawey man like Lakeshore Records, hoi them out like.
NEW! #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorldsβ Season 3 soundtrack is beaming down from Lakeshore Records this Friday... and you can stop waiting for a Season 2 release

It took years since the original announcement of it to get to this point, has there been any official confirmation it wasn't just a one off series?
Perhaps under Captain Elisabeth Cutler, that would be a nice nod to Ms. Waymire
I'd like to think President Archer would be using the refit NX01 and designated it as Federation One.
Great episode. Nagilum freaked me out until I learned he was played by Wilson from Home Improvement. Couldn't be frightened of him after that. "Hi di ho, John Luc."
"Think back to your childhood. Do you remember when the anxiety started?"
Yes, he could argue that the ends justify the means as whatever he did to get all that money he would have used it for good in the end. And if he ended hunger or cured cancer for example, it may be hard to argue.
In a way it seems odd they haven't offered him his own ep of SNW to write and direct, given the big swings that series has taken. Might not be his bag perhaps but hey ho. Would suit the format-busting nature of the show to have a QT 90 min episode or similar and the characters would suit his writing
Brilliant!
And fair enough, unfortunately Hollywood are still using money and they have to find some, to coin a phrase. But looking totally inward doesn't work based on the evidence. I liked Bakula a lot but Archer gave some "George Bush Jr in space" vibes at times. Good if you support that, not for everyone.
Rich Matthews, Ian Spelling and Toby Weismann have decades of experience diving into everything Trek. Now they have a podcast together called Beyond The Final Frontier and I came to visit. Take a listen- I had a great time with these three

Just a reminder that while the US and specifically "Middle America" is a big market for ST, there is the rest of the planet to consider. Some of us like it too π
