After a very looong 8 weeks, with no let ups (my Year 6 class are hard work), I woke up this morning with a nice half term present… sore throat, blocked nose and feeling achey! Typical 😬😡

A decent morning run 💪🥵, followed by a ‘chat’ with the village peacock 🦚
The local deer came to feast on my neighbour’s apples this evening (she will be furious! 😬)
Whilst in the Oasis queue I have…
been for a walk around a lake;
had a coffee with a friend;
mown the front and back lawn;
had lunch.
🙄😬🙄😬
First half term is always the toughest mentally, physically and emotionally because of this. BUT so worthwhile!
The only ones in the house that are guaranteed to happily join me at 7am for a walk on a bank holiday (and yes the cats are bodyguards for the dog!)
Seen this on X and it really resonates with my 27 years in teaching… if you are told you are not good enough in one school, you are probably in the wrong school.
Hard run this morning with some big hills and a muddy lane to finish 🏃♀️🥵
Tend to use mine (most areas of the curriculum) to aide retrieval … so mostly blank to begin with then I add key words and phrases. When I give retrieval questions, children can then use them if they need to. I also add photos and children’s work. They don’t always look fantastic but are ‘used’.
Morning walk… the dog and 2 cats 🐕🦺😹
Always tricky to get the right balance… I’ve found that no matter how much or what you give you will always have 3 groups: those who never bother; those who do the bare minimum and those who want more! Usually it’s very much dependent on parental input!
Just returned from a 2 week family holiday to Portugal. Decided to wash swimwear first… with 3 teenage daughters and myself that’s at least 20 bikinis. It has just taken me 40 minutes to untangle all the strings! 😵💫🥵
🥳
Is there a prize? 🤔😂
👋 new here so just wanted to say hello! I’m a primary school teacher (27 years in September, mainly in year 6 😵💫). I have 3 teenage daughters and enjoy running and reading.
