Idlewild, one of Scotland's most iconic bands, at Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, on Dec 30; supported by Jill Lorean.
One of the finest bands. When I read about young Roddy & Co being influenced by R.E.M. it all made perfect sense. Live they absolutely raise the roof whether they're rocking or being laid back. Seeing them for umpteenth time on Dec 30 in Edinburgh.
Montrose players in white away strips applaud on the pitch at Alloa after a 2-1 victory versus the home side.
1995 was the last time Montrose FC won on the road at Alloa (& I was a baby reporter on the local paper). Great performance from the boys this afternoon grabbing 3 points here for the first time in 29 years!

A winter wander on Moncrieffe Hill near Perth. It's lovely to be out in the crisp December air, amongst the big trees and Pictish hill forts.
On Dec 7, 2020, we lost legendary Doug Scott. Known for bold first ascents like Changabang (1974), The Ogre (1977), and new routes on Everest (1975), Kangchenjunga (1979), and Shisha Pangma (1982), he also completed Seven Summits in 1995. His legacy inspires us all.

Online Mountaineering Scotland AGM rather than in person in Perthshire due to Storm Bert. Back on the Board as a volunteer Director for year 3, exciting times as we grow membership and represent those who walk, hike, climb and ski.
First music post on here & it's @laurajanegrace.bsky.social at King Tuts. A life-affirming show: packed crowd, protest songs and enough positive energy to power a city.
