The Supreme Court case tomorrow is fundamentally not about gender affirming care, it's about whether or not trans people have any protections under the 14th amendment. A loss in this case would greenlight a torrent of explicitly discriminatory legislation without much, if any judicial recourse.

Thank you for the list. I follow all of those but MintPress. I will add it to my list. I do not mean to extract labor from you. Thank you for your time. We do not need to continue the chat.

You are certainly allowed to believe what you want, but it truly is about community and support. I don’t go for me. I go because my friends and neighbors invite me.

Is there a media source you recommend? I like AJ because they have people in Gaza.

For those of us who are there, sitting in community with each other and mourning the ones who have been murdered.

My question to Arie was specific to her statement that I need to “be more active in organising opposition to the US”. It’s hard to “organize” from so far away, but I am definitely trying to do what I can and open to finding additional ways to help.

One of the advantages of living in Qatar easy access is to reputable and reliable information. Al Jazeera is our local station on TV & on the car radio. It makes it easier for me to then share that information with friends in the US…since the Zionist media there suppresses or misinterprets reality.

Thank you. The only thing on there that I don’t/can’t do it strike. Qatar doesn’t allow protests, but there have been many solidarity events. They are very powerful. ❤️

Two pane comic strip. The top is a picture of a green iguana on a branch. There is a smaller iguana on its back that is rainbow colored. The text says “If you can’t accept and love a queer kid”

The bottom pane is a green iguana on a branch by itself. The text says “Don’t have kids”

It’s incredibly hard to help organize local protests from such a great distance. I have friends in the US that do that work. So, I help spread the word about the events and offer funding. Thank you for your time.

Serious request for advice: How do you suggest I “organize opposition to the US” beyond my vote, calling my reps, and amplifying US & European protests? No one who knows me thinks I support the US government in any way. This a huge part of why we left in 2010.

Absolutely

I fully understand that the US is responsible for funding this war. We are beyond complicit. The US has been an active participant.

I live in Qatar. That isn’t an option here.

I have educated my children about Palestine although they learn plenty from their friends as well. I amplify Palestinian voices. I try to educate as many people as I can. I wear my keffiyeh when traveling internationally as a symbol of solidarity. I am always looking for new ideas/ways to help.

I live in Qatar but am a US citizen. I am calling my reps regularly: At least 3 times a week. I also email the White House every morning. I have had a standing monthly donation to UNRWA for many years. I support my friends and neighbors when they lose yet another loved one.

YES!!! Word choice matters. This is a genocide. It is ethnic cleansing. It is apartheid. Israel is a colonizer. Hamas is a resistance organization. It is legal to resist occupation.

Book cover for this is how it always is by Laurie Frankel. The background is blue and meant to be the sky. The bottom 5% of the cover is black and made to look like the ground. The black silhouette of a person is standing on the ground and has a hand-drawn outline of Buttefly wings on their back. The outline is yellow. The title is in white in a handwritten script font. Each word is on its own line. The title is centered over the person and takes up the top 75% of the cover. On each side of the title, it looks like there are 2 quoted endorsements. On the right, toward the bottom is a white circle that is yellow in the middle. It is meant to look like a sticker. It says Reece’s Book Club.

Book cover for The Alchemy of Talent: Leading Teams to Peak Performance by Vijay Pendakur. The background is solid white. The author’s name is at the top in black letters. A chemistry beaker is the main focus of the cover. It is glass with a narrow neck and is wider at the bottom. The liquid fills the beaker to about half way. The liquid is a mix of sunset colors: mostly pinkish red with a bit of yellow in the bottom left. Towards the bottom right, the liquid is mostly blue-ish purple. The book title “The Alchemy of Talent” is centered in the middle of the cover in black ink and is superimposed across the top 60% of the beaker. Each of the four words is on a different line. The words Alchemy and Talent are larger and stretch across the middle 70% of the cover. The subtitle “Leading teams to peak performance” is in white letters superimposed on the colorful liquid in the beaker.

Older women are changing the face of the U.S. labor force One out of 10 workers in the United States are women over the age of 55. Necessity is often a reason, but so is dedication and purpose.

This @washingtonpost.com article is interesting. But, WTF?!?! In 7 months I’ll be considered an “Older Woman”. Nah….😂😂😂

The Hunter Biden story is a perfect encapsulation of what’s wrong with American media:

Is it a story? Sure.

But every newspaper in America devoting front page headlines to Hunter fucking Biden while Trump appoints a cabal of rapists, racists and con-men to positions of enormous power is MADNESS.
