Honored to have a story in this gorgeous spring issue of Potomac Review!
Hi Nicole, you killed it at AWP! "Ask an Agent Anything" was my favorite session. You and the others were full of wisdom and humor. I don't know how agents wear so many hats and still seem so relaxed. I have a voice-driven family novel in the works and would love to query you when I'm finished.
So excited to have a story in the latest issue of Potomac Review and meet Editor Monica Mische! Great day at AWP conference.
Award-winning author Ben Fountain joined The Epilogue podcast to talk about character and voice, fearlessly embracing big themes, and having a book adapted into a movie.
Congratulations to the winners!

Just finished listening to your interview with Gail Carriger. She is full of writing wisdom — loved the information on the Heroine's Journey and characterizing inanimate objects. Thanks for another great episode, Michael!!

Issue 66 of Vestal Review comes out just after the summer solstice, when the days start growing shorter, though as any flash fiction aficionado knows, brevity isn’t always a bad thing.

Walked into an elevator with my kids. Tom Hanks was in it.
“Hello, Tom Hanks.”
My kids looking at me like I’m INSANE - why are you talking to a stranger? How do you know his name?
TOM HANKS: Close your eyes.
(Reluctantly, they do)
He goes into full Woody voice.
“Andy’s coming!”
Smiles.
