A poster reading "Can't Beat Clawdia" with Claudia Dicky in her OL Reign keeper kit and obscenely badly photoshopped lobster arms.
The @theathletic.com claims Lynn invented Claw-dia but the true story is that one absolutely deranged fan (me) invented and has been building that brand for the best US keeper for years. Please put in the papers that I am annoyed.

need 'em holding hands
please send women's football back to the wars
Kessya Bussy, game-changer. at least.
wow this match is miserable, the most exciting thing to happen in the second half is goalkeepers not quite catching the ball fully
*putting on the Bremen-Wolfsburg replay* women's football has finally returned from the wars!
they're not called Seattle Shighn
to the early NWSL owners, high expansion fees are their just reward for having developed the league through the difficult years, and to the new owners, the promise of getting in for FUTURE expansion fees (and TV deals etc) is worth the cost
the money isn't even really for operations
no, I mean, the existing NWSL owners who bought in early get their reward in the form of expansion fees for new franchises
So the Blazers owner was trying to wait to get the reward for Seattle and Vegas joining the NBA with THEIR expansion fees soon
For example the Portland Trail Blazers owner was legally mandated to sell the team after her father died but she was holding out as long as she could in order to cash in on the seemingly imminent expansion fees
I do think most of it is a legalized pyramid scheme where it goes to the owners who previously invested
I was going to bring up Bundesliga 50+1 rule but lmao
"for example, the well-run and definitely not exploitative model exemplified by FC Barcelona, "
they should invent a kind of sports that's sustainable without relying on the largesse of the worst people in the world/gambling
I genuinely want to know where all of these expansion fee money is going because ti does not seem like it's going to the teams nor is it going to player salaries (or other things like improved cameras/production equipment)
My personal favourites:
Sandy Baltimore
Vic Albuquerque
Isa Haas
Particularly as the top two sound like a detective agency from an American noir film.
exactly!
I think this definitely shows that Emma Hayes is very good at that aspect of her job but I'm not sure if there are significantly broader takeaways than that.
as I ponder a next newsletter, I do feel like I have to say the net takeaway I have from the US winning the "series" against Japan was that the Americans were prepared for a third game in a week at Mile High with ridiculous weather conditions and Japan wasn't
who could have predicted this about the Cool Girl Podcast For Hot Mean Cool Girls
are you telling me madrid is going for the biggest name available regardless of fit
Brazil bombarding Canada's goal but not quite breaking through, Canada with some moments of danger on the other side, good match
stealing home from second base
Canada versus Brazil streaming for the US (at least) on DAZN www.dazn.com/en-US/home/i...
she's like the hot smart girl making the transition into the weird cool aunt
there is a part of me that thinks that Melissa Ortiz should just be handed the keys to US Soccer on television because she's so good and so, so, so weird
