The idea that we can fully understand the collapse of FTX without at least some sense of who actually traded on the exchange in big size is clearly untenable.
So too is idea that crypto deserves a pass from the normal standards of transparency everyone else follows in US court.
Last month, the FT along with Bloomberg, NYT and WSJ appealed the extraordinary secrecy in the FTX bankruptcy proceedings, where the court has hidden the names of every last customer-creditor, even major institutional customers owed $100s of millions
