Denji chose to live in blissful ignorance. And this has shaped up the narrative so we never know the behind the scenes of the events, but only their outcome. We don't know what leads Barem to say this, or why he's doing this. Thats what Willful Blissful Ignorance does.

About Barem- i don't think this is the last we'll see of him. We already saw that Yoshida was swallowed whole and came back after Pochita vomited him.

He isn't being swallowed quite whole here, but most of him remains, and he's immortal. If Pochita wants, he'll return.

Denji (or Pochita?) is absolutely crying here. You can tell based on the expression he makes with his mouth.

It's a tragic friendship, the only reason they were with each other is because they had to- but deep down that friendship they were forced on to is what they needed.... but only Yoshida could trully appreciate it

Maybe, with this, Denji will finally learn what matters.

The reason Denji is devastated is because he realized this way too late. He had lost the only person who, he believes, genuinely liked him as a friend. There's a reason why the chapter is called "BFF" who but not him?

Denji believed there was no use to have friendships, not with boys. Because there was no way it would bring him to these old times.

And he also, not until the last chapter, didn't realized Yoshida was his friend, someone who enjoyed being with him.

Denji seeks that intimacy because its what he had with his old family. He didn't think he could achieve it again unless it was through a sexual/romantical relationship like up until this moment, where he realized it doesn't need to be directly physical.

I believe Denji lost will to live here is because he realized, way too late, that Yoshida was his only friend. Denji always rejected, and never seeked the idea of just a friendship because he didn't believe it would bring him the intimacy a romantic relationship would.

It was an amazing story that allowed me feel the whole spectrum of emotions- which is a really hard task. Despite it's lenght, it is truly worth it.

I finished the last of the 100 endings in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. I can't convey in words how much i cherished this experience. This is without a doubt Kodaka & Uchikoshi's one masterpiece. You must play it.

If you believe Fujimoto is, at the end of Chainsaw Man, going to give you the "solution" to the dilemmas set through the story and pretty much life itself by extension, then you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Does the Chainsaw Man manga actually need to repeat it every 5 chapters that Asa & Denji do like each other romantically without people going "Oh actually they don't/they dislike each other" based on gigantic reach and assumptions? It's getting tiring.
