Book 8 2026: The Gate of the Feral Gods (DDC 4)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭕
Enjoyed, the open world scenario was engaging with different environments and challenges that needed to be faced.
Magical items, tricksy shapeshifters and a resolve to do damage to the Universe abound...

Well I didn't have Dom Bess being @yorkshireccc.bsky.social 's first centurion of the season on my 2025 county champ bingo card.
Not sure about that LBW at all. Looked like he was on the front foot, hit on the knee roll in line(ish) with off stump.
Nevermind, chance for Wharton.

I wonder how many weddings have been crashed that were inspied by Busted?
Book 6 2025: Carl's Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman (DCC Book 2).
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Building on DCC, developing characters with more monsters, humour & chaos.
Carl & Donut's world view is changing and they're seeing a little outside the dungeon & it's dangers.
Phenomenal read.

The 1on1 between Richard Ayoade and Bob Mortimer on #lastonelaughing is probably the funniest bit of TV I've seen in years.
Just give me an hour of those two ad-libbing and I will die happy.

I'd never read LitRPG but this scratched an itch I didn't know I had.
Funny, entertaining and wonderfully well written with great world-building and character arcs.
Got the second book immediately, it's that good.

Don't think United offered much, Beadle didn't have anything to do all game. They had one chance and took it.
Yet again we miss out because we can't take all the chances we make.

Didn't think I'd be this nervous tbh. Distracted this morning by the death of a goldfish, hopefully that's not a bad omen!

Book 4 2025: The Sanctuary (Andrew Hunter Murray)
⭐⭐⭐⭕⭕
AHM creates an easily accessible world that though fictional, is relatable.
Story has lots of mystery & drama but didn't suck me in like a thriller should.
End left more Q's than A's, but a good read for sci-fi fans.

Same old story with all the clubs above us; play better football and be really competitive but can't finish all the chances.
Everyone above us is just more clinical than we are and that's the be all and end all.
Take nothing away from Sunderland because they took their chance, but the standard or referring is woeful.
Ref had a clear line of sight and was only 20 meters away, why didn't he call the handball?
Not to mention the clear penalty we should have had for their handball.
It's just plain bad.
You'd hope so, wouldn't you
Ugbo winner incoming
This has got England fizzling out of the Champions Trophy with a whimper written all over it.

Book 3 2025: The Lost World by Michael Crichton

Like JP it's such an easy read despite the horror and tension throughout.
Slower start but still plenty of excitement, Levine features heavily as a hate character throughout. Shame he didn't get eaten.
4/5 will read again.

Completely agree.
It was a stinker, but he's loaned out with us for a reason otherwise he'd be Brighton's number 1.
One of the worst I've seen at Hillsborough mate.
Standard of officials in this league is diabolical, I can't remember the last time we had a good ref.
The mistake wasn't the striker's foul (no surprise the ref didn't give that, he didn't give anything that was a foul all game); his mistake was not just catching it in the first place.
It was a simple up and under, he'd have caught 99/100 of those in training.
In the obvious Beadle pile on it's easy to forget that he's a keeper who has saved us more points this season than cost us.
He made a mistake and it's gutting for us, imagine how he feels. But his saves have seen us out for wins and draws a lot more than his mistakes have cost us.

The twelve men of Coventry are defending well.
He didn't even play two minutes. One of the worst officials performances I've seen.
Absolutely howler.
