I've been using DirectTV stream for the past few months, which just added ESPN+ at no charge. Only use for sports and it has worked for me for all Boston sports even college hockey. However, it's almost as expensive as cable. But no contract, so can go month to month and use when desired.

By the time tix go onsale, they usually post more info about transportation and lodging. But hotels sell out quick. Was surprised any were available today.

You can take buses from Pittsfield, MA. Many people fly into Albany or Hartford instead of Boston. Albany may be quick, but some say the road is a bit tricky. (Haven't done myself.) They will open up a dorm option at MCLA, which is good/cheap. Been to last 5. Highly recommend.
