It's just as simple as that. Even now, calling it "Universal Healthcare" or "Medicare for All" means that Black and Brown people would also get it, and they can't have THAT, even if they want it themselves.

Preferring nonfiction, I rarely read fiction - let alone historical fiction. But...I really, really enjoyed Last Night at the Telegraph Club, a historical novel geared toward young adult readers. Set in 1950s San Francisco, it centers a Chinese American teenage girl discovering her queerness. #books
