tbcr's "newest" machine in his collection, the NEC PC-9821 S1. It is a small in height but rather long (front to back) desktop unit. It is on his sofa.

Specifically, the s1 model of the first PC-9821. Featuring a 386SX @ 20Mhz and a massive...1.6Mb of RAM. I got this due to the fact the mouse port lets you use joysticks with it. Plus I can use my 5.25in external drives on it (for my spindizzy demo disk). This replaces the Cs2, which died on me.

I regret to inform that another PC-98 machine has entered my house.

my night in a nutshell

I think about how The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury is a “Fix-up” novel, comprising of works of his from prior publications. Since most of the re-arrangements for this album were composed by me for other projects, I have decided to label this a “Fix-up” album.

Worked more on the album last night, particularly the “title track”. The album is called “…are you sure you know…”, but the track is just shortened to “…you know…”. While it wasn’t one of original three “Zeuhl Experiments”, I feel like the new arrangement definitely has that sort of sound to it.

So I spent a bit of time last night writing a list of all the active projects that I was able to remember off the top of my head and it's already a big list. Imagine how big that list would be if I remembered everything that I've been working on and off on.

This should not impact the 1 stream a week plan (with speedrun request being the only 2nd stream for a week) moving forward, but other things related to the stream will be for the time being.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if this is one of the key reasons I have been going through considerable depressive bouts and having a lot of self-loathing as of recent. Once things have been sorted out and prioritized, we'll see where things take us.

Embarrassingly, I've not really organized any of it on paper, meaning I've been juggling alot of stuff while keeping track of all of it in my brain (not good for mental health).

To not drive myself further mad, I halting all work on my projects until I can properly step back and organize things.

Ok so, update on stuff.

It has become obvious that, over the last 16 years of making content, that I have slowly been adding more and more projects , a number of them having considerable scope creep, and not many of them finishing due to that.

That is easier said than done.

So we got a decent bit into the game during this and locked in the Neutral route for the Law/Neutral/Chaos part.

There is a part before the intermission I need to go back to and edit down and it was very prescient.

Next stream is next friday. Now to focus on weekend shifts at work and content.

Today is going to be the stream day this week and I will be absolutely infuriated if it isn't. This being said, I cannot stream for the usual long length today because of the fact that I have work in the morning on Saturday and Sunday.

I unironically have cereal for dinner and sub sandwich for breakfast some days. In fact today, it might be one of those days.

Further plot twist in that, not only did my body do this to me (again), but my dr's appointment had to be cancelled on the office's end so I have to reschedule it.

Not my week this week.

On the plus side, I made substantial progress on a music track today.

Sometimes there is a lake or pond at the park as well! You can watch the ducks and geese as they swim by.

Why is my body doing this to me? Why can't you let me get a decent nights fucking sleep without waking me up super early?

So apparently, no, we're not having it tonight because not only did my body decide to wake me up 4 hours earlier this morning, I remembered that I have a dr appointment quite literally at 10 AM tomorrow morning so in the interest of not missing that I'm going to have to push the stream to Friday

My self-esteem issues are really kicking my ass right now.

On top of having a overwhelming backlog of stuff to get through, I’ve also been dragging my ass on learning 2D and 3D art. In that particular instance, it’s mainly just due to mind games my brain is making me suffer with. Those who saw the Art Academy Stream probably know what I am talking about.

Stream is still planned for later and will be the Majin Tensei II session we were supposed to have last friday. While I may not be streaming 3-4 days a week for the time being, there will still be speedrunning in the background.

While I could go with a common time beat, I do like challenging myself with my music writing. Does it make it accessible? In some ways no, but I do try to counteract it with a catchy rhythm and hook. This is also one of the few tracks on the album I'm writing that have actual discernible lyrics.

Have unironically been dabbling this morning with composing a piece of music that has sections that alternate in 4/4 and 7/8 time signatures. While working on this, I think of Turn it on Again by Genesis, which is in 13/4(alternating 6/4 and 7/4) where it's almost a danceable type of setup.
