Two turnovers in one play is pretty much the Eagles offense in a nutshell.

Accessible, cheap clean energy could spark a new world order Unshackled from legacy fossil fuel interests, the world’s clean energy future is being forged in the bustling cities of the global south.

absolutely excellent story about the *real* big energy of the decade/millennium unfolding before us

What Did Men Do to Deserve This? Changes in the economy and in the culture seem to have hit them hard. Scott Galloway believes they need an “aspirational vision of masculinity.”

Really thankful for this, from @winterjessica.bsky.social—a long-overdue corrective to an exhausting discourse. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

Jack DeJohnette, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock and Dave Holland - Shadow Dance (live)
Jack DeJohnette, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock and Dave Holland - Shadow Dance (live) YouTube video by SafaJah

Just learned that Jack DeJohnette left us this week. I was lucky enough to see him once, way back in 1990, with Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny and Dave Holland. Even then, young as I was, I knew I was seeing greatness. RIP. youtu.be/a3CZHr5uiNM?...

Well said by Adam Gopnik in the @newyorker.com. Assuming the Big Beautiful Ballroom even gets built, I look forward to the day it gets torn down.

It’s just the metaphorical usage: unkempt, messy, rambling.

So is the NFL currently experiencing parity? Or mediocrity? Or both?

Feels like every team right now is one concussed cornerback away from completely unraveling.

JB Pritzker's forceful, defiant response to Trump's threat to jail him confirms the points I tried to make in the piece and thread below about the role of conflict and attention in the public battle over Trump's authoritarian takeover:

The Signal Listener's Choice Award needs YOU I just voted for this finalist to win a Signal Listener's Choice Award. You should too.

One of the podcasts I work on is nominated for a Signal Award for Best Writing, which is lovely since I take a lot of pride in how good our writers are. And hey, you can vote for us! If we lose to Outlaw Ocean I wont be mad but it’d be pretty neat to win. vote.signalaward.com/PublicVoting...

I wish we could’ve worked together again. I wish I’d had a chance to buy him a beer or three. I wish I was half the writer he was. He was only 37. RIP.

The ballad of the Chowchilla bus kidnapping In 1976, a school bus carrying 26 children and their driver disappeared from a small California town. Forty-five years later, we revisit the story.

This is one of my favorite pieces he wrote. I somehow convinced him to adapt it into a season of Against the Odds, which he wrote for us with wit and grace and a little embarrassment, I think. The show’s style was a little pulpy for taste but he adapted well to it. www.vox.com/the-highligh...

Stunned to hear that we recently lost Kaleb Horton, one of the most talented writers I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. He was tuned to a different frequency, picking up voices from a version of California that darker and way more interesting than the sunshine and celebrities version.
