I think if the first thing you do when you wake up is post a picture of yourself, it’s most likely that you need it. Coming from experience.

I said I’m playing it too. I’m sorry it upset you, but the need to be seen and validated I think is one of the largest drivers of being on social media. But I didn’t tear you down, I didn’t even mention you.

I appreciate that, but I’ve been kinda tiptoeing away for a bit. I only come back when I’m having a low moment, but it doesn’t help me in the long run. I want to focus more on real life relationships that aren’t solely based on looks.

I feel like I’ll be the last piece of the work I’ve done totally detaching my worth to external sources— deleting this profile. It’s hard though. But I don’t find really any benefits or pros to being on here. There is no way to escape that validation loop.

Do you ever get tired of social media and the constant comparison/validation game? Even if you say you aren’t, you’re posting for validation. If you didn’t care, you’d just keep the pics on your camera roll.
