From nvidia rep. Only inputted data into DLSS5 is the frame (2D image) and motion vectors. No geometry or pbr channels are considered. They can say geometry is unchanged because DLSS5 is a 2D overlay which obscures (and inherently does not preserve) geo underneath.
...or should I say ass-toot prose.
My dude with the astute prose. I couldn't have said it better.
This one is actually more accurate. But there in lies the problem: if from scene to scene this ML model decides to accentuate features differently, then there will be no facial continuity.
Believe me, I do this for a living.
I appreciate your opinion and to a degree you are correct about lighting and it's ability to change the appearance of primary and secondary forms of the face. But this is clearly an example where you can see facial landmarks and features expanding beyond what lighting could accentuate.
Yeah... base geo is drastically different. Artistic direction/ intent be damned.

Latest piece I worked on over the holiday break. I made a fan piece of Sergeant Johnson from the original Halo Combat Evolved. A little tricky to translate a character that is 25 years old (original is the last image), but it was a fun challenge.
I hear that game is pretty alright!
Your next one!

I printed that one from my original sculpt file. I wish I could share it but Disney would track me down and make me disappear ๐
Turgle gang is growing with the latest hasbro figure. Also props to @thetoxiccollector.bsky.social for baby Turgle!

This makes me sad and I don't even know you. I hope you find your passion again. From what I see on here you have some really nice pieces. Industry is in a rough place and it's undoubtedly discouraging but if you keep cranking out work you'll have a competitive portfolio when the industry recovers.
God damn, I love a folded over chip.... and that's my post for the month. See you next month.
Looking great so far!
Rome better get ready for some deep dish.
Looks badass! Congrats.
Hehe thanks dude! I'll be right there refreshing the page with you.
It's so good! I've logged about 15 hours and most are just hiking around looking at pretty stuff.
I'm this old...
Thanks!
So happy to hear you enjoyed it! Cheers.
Oh damn. Thanks dude! And yeah... I thought we didn't need it for in-office! haha.
