"(Here in Canada) oil and gas, which is largely foreign-owned, largely U.S.-owned, aren’t doing their part. (Instead)...increasing our emissions and ...demanding that Canadian taxpayers pay the bill for cleaning up the pollution they cause and building pipelines they won’t risk their own money on.”

"Did you have a nice motorcycle ride this afternoon?"
Yeah, I did. I rode over to--
"Cool story, bro. Listen, I have this ball, OK? And it's not going to throw itself, is it?" #dogsofbluesky
Over on Twitter, Greg Clark, former leader of the Alberta Party and Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission committee member shared his thoughts on the UCP's failure to act on the recommendations of the Commission.
He was one of the most reasonable politicians I've ever worked with. Worth a look.
Danielle Smith has a plan to destroy public health care in Alberta—and she’s not doing it alone.
Documents and lobbying records reveal the government is consulting directly with Canada’s private insurance giants on how to implement two-tier health care, reports @nikbarryshaw.bsky.social
Alberta is going to try to rig the next election in their favour by gerrymandering the electoral boundaries.

Five alarm fire for democracy in Canada.
Not just Alberta.
The whole country.
Not hyperbole. When we take away effective representation, we no longer have a real claim to being a liberal democracy. If Alberta gets away with this, other provinces will follow.
A split bar chart of YouGov polling data with the headline: "Americans are most likely to say T. Rex is their favorite dinosaur, but many don't have a favorite." The chart has the sub-headline: "Which of the following is your favorite dinosaur? (%)." The chart has the note: "Note: "Other" includes responses of archaeopteryx, spinosaurus, plesiosaur, ankylosaurus, allosaurus, parasaurolophus, dilophosaurus, diplodocus, iguanadon, and pachycephalosaurus, as well as responses of "other." We know pterodactyls and plesiosaurs aren't dinosaurs. Opinion about dinosaurs comes from the question, "How much do you like or dislike dinosaurs?""
A shocking new poll result: Many Americans somehow don't have a favorite dinosaur.
And only 6% give the correct answer (triceratops).

Reminder to next dem government: take all of SpaceX’s federal contracts and give the money back to NASA.
April fools only works when reality isn't this stupid.
While separatists are taking a victory lap…
It’s important to remember and support that First Nations are standing up to support the rule of law while Smith tears it down.
In one week you can show the your support!

Holy Hell broke out in Rockland County,NewYork at the town hall meeting of Republican Mike Lawler after some Veterans stood up & told him how they feel about him & Trump! So Lawler decides to have them all kicked out & that made it even worse for him! He finally had to leave! 😲👏💙😎
There were more voters who didn’t vote in ‘24 than there were those who voted for Trump.
Remember: You don’t have to waste your time or breath on MAGA cult members. They are lost. Focus on the apathetic.

I think we are going to see a surge in road violence as baby boomers age out of driving but refuse to stop driving because if you can't drive in North America you have no independence and if you listen to them, they'll tell you that they didn't work hard as adults just to retire to a gilded prison.
A politician with the guts to say it:
"No American child from the blue collar or the middle class should have to die fighting in Iran. Let the Epstein class fight the Epstein War."
- Premier Wab Kinew at the NDP national convention, Winnipeg.
Ungrateful. He has a 10% discount card* for Four Seasons Total Landscaping.
*not valid on existing discounts or creosote.
The guy who brought the separatists into the tent to "unite" the right, and who stoked their rhetoric in order to make himself look like a hero, is now going to debate against separatism.
Honestly, fuck that guy.

Disappointing to see millions of dollars in cuts to cancer screening, prevention, and research in Budget 2026.
This govt just tabled a $9.4B deficit. Where'd the money go? Not to cancer surgeries, screening, or research. Never before has a govt spent so much for Albertans to get so little.
But maybe we ought to be skeptical, at the same time.
For someone interested in preventing foreign interference, Premier Smith has done little to this point to prevent it.
In fact, by loosening campaign finance laws, she has made it easier for foreign dark money to flow into Alberta politics.
The math isn't mathing in Alberta’s children’s pain med deal. 🚩

A reminder that we don’t need billionaires to pay charity, we need them to pay their damn taxes. Billionaire philanthropy is PR to disguise their tax evasion.
Don’t fall for it. Tax billionaires. Save our democracy. Period.
Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea: “if there are 100 good-looking buildings in Canada, 45 of them are in Winnipeg”.
WOW!
There have long been rumors that Danielle Smith recieved the gift of a solid gold cat a few years ago...
Today, Nenshi called her out on that & luxury watches as well!
None of which Smith denied!
Instead she hid behind the ethics laws she rewrote and gutted.

The blunt truth? Sprawl is heavily subsidized by ALL of us.
wow! Rand Paul begins Markwayne Mullin's hearing by confronting him about comments he made describing Paul as a "freakin' snake" & "celebrating" Paul getting assaulted
"I wonder if someone who applauds political violence is right to lead an agency that has struggled to accept proper use of force"
Jennifer Siebel Newsom: Well, there has historically been a war on women in our country. While we’ve made tremendous progress in terms of gender equity, we are increasingly seeing—especially with the current federal administration—a rollback of women’s rights.
This is Stinky and Binky. Their human jokingly started offering ad space on their backs, but then people actually started buying spots. Good thing Binky is running a special. 14/10 for both (TT: toocutelabs)
