Sea of Sorrows isn't going to shadow drop for the Hollow Knight anniversary in two days, but just because it won't doesn't mean it can't.

Naked authoritarian fascism. Love and support to the entire team at @jimmykimmellive.bsky.social, who *will* come out the other side of this horrendous abuse of power. Disgusted to see ABC caving to this glaringly illegal and unconstitutional threat from Brendan Carr.

This unhinged 5am Bluesky rant has done me so much good in archiving this rabbit hole of information

More and more people reporting today that Stripe - the payment processor that Itch said were putting the most pressure on them - now have staff actively confirming that yes, they are censoring LGBT content, adult or otherwise. That this is official company policy.

This seems kinda significant.

I agree Dropout has a stronger image and more influence (mostly notably with Gamechanger but also D20, UA, and MSN) but it feels like Nebula isn’t failing at what it aims to do?

Nebula definitely has some misses and problems. Monetarily though, it seems to be doing alright which is rare enough

I hear about Nebula in any discussion about Jet Lag and certain video essayists (Lindsay Ellis, Geller, BobbyB), and also within academic/student spaces (in a few different ways, but most often as a collection of worthwhile content or a means of accessing exclusive videos).

Has Nebula failed? I feel like both platforms have comparative strengths and weaknesses yet are both on the successful end of the spin-off platform spectrum

kind of rude of Ludwig to do League Week 2 while I’m busy so that I can’t follow up my hit League Week analytical write-up with a banger sequel

Are you upset that Twitch has seemingly used AI image generation for their new category images— INCLUDING the ART and other CREATIVE categories??

Please tell them by up-voting and commenting on the UserVoice here: tinyurl.com/twitchimage

Up-voting is great, commenting is even better!

A convention for video and streaming creators in Canada would be very cool, depending on the focus is (fan meetings vs. actually interesting discussion panels or guest talks) I'd definitely go.

Maybe it’s more wild that “I Am Not Your Friend” went from meme, to *the* video to send to parasocial viewers, to being taken quite seriously, to being accepted as an important milestone in Twitch discourse—and to now being treated by viewers as a rejected/outdated idea

-in the span of 4 years.

Highlighted text: “In response to such transgressions, Twitch partner and variety streamer Ludwig reacted to a YouTube video aptly titled "I Am Not Your Friend," agreeing with the premise and reminding viewers that the relationship he had with those who watched him was not a reciprocal one.”

Kind of wild that Ludwig made Twitch-discourse history with “I Am Not Your Friend” only to softly walk it back a couple years later

So this is a lesson that those boring plot re-hashes might be kind of essential even if they hollow out your soul, I guess?

This was a solid plan until friends and family have asked to see what I was working on and at no point in the video do I explain *anything* about the plot, setting, or the game's most-obvious themes

So I wrote my SotC video essay for the target demographic of "people who watch gaming video essays on YT and are probably familiar with Shadow of the Colossus in some form"

Because personally I get tired of video essays rehashing the plot and major themes of a game that's already very well known

Screenshot of an academic paper, that reads: "A film version of Shadow of the Colossus was announced in 2012, directed by Josh Trank, but that one never went into full production. It remains to be seen if Sony are
willing to try again in the future, but given the success of films like Uncharted (2022, Ruben Fleischer), it seems plausible that the game could one day get successfully adapted for movie audiences. "
