Cube night 260418 - RIOT cube
Drafted "Bonus Breach Burn" aka "mongobrΓ€nn" for a 3-0 record! Empty was played once, most games were won with straight up burn. Phlage obviously performed well.
Esper Control 2-1
UR Tempo 2-1
Elves 2-0

Hold up, new Vintage alters just dropped!

The deck was designed as part of a 100β¬ budget project: the list should be available for <100β¬ and no single card may break 10β¬. Design is further restricted by Bracket 2 "rules" and Sol Ring being banned.

Inspired by @sawatarix.bsky.social, I made a new deckbox for my Anhelo-deck. Fun project and style to try out, not sure how Kai wet-blends with acrylics though.
I find the routine of daily journaling helping me visualise how I spend my time, separating each day into its own. Having this material to look back on makes for a delight, and I think it helps me grow.
The repetition of patterns on the face of the books comes from my preference of using blank pages, without guiding squares, dots, or ruled lines. It is the three illustrated-prints following this preference that they offer, a collaboration with The Dybdahl Co.
It started off with their "Writer's essentials" and the top-row of books, the second-row gave a new way of signifying dates. The bottom-row presents my journal itself, with the Caran D'ache pen acquired alongside my original box, with the new book-refills that will follow me through March -27.
My annual re-fill from Paper Republic arrived today!
I've been using them for my daily journaling since late 2021. While I haven't been able to write everyday, I have managed to write about every day since.
The past few days have given some extra downtime, it resulted in three new magic-pieces:
* a Veil of Summer-reminder token for TES
* an alter for TnT Amulet
* a placeholder for Sink in Tameshi

Good headspace, good focus, good choices, good Echoes. I liked today, deck felt great with a proper sideboard.

Redid the deck slightly for this event, major troubles came from my initial headspace off of work and not finding mana in slow matchups, I'll have to try mulling more actively for lands.

Not in the best headspace: kept hands without clear agendas, drew accidental cards, tunnel-visioned. Looking forward to iterating on the list and trying again next week πͺ
Had Rebecca been on-site today as well there'd have been more π«£
Haul from Eternal Weekend:
* Two dozen signatures for various projects
* Three playmats
* Five cube-foils
* Five amazing tokens
Round 4: Cradle, 1-2
Missed lethal the turn before opp got interaction in G1. Took G2 off of Echo. Mulled low and Drew poorly G3.
Dropped due to fatigue stemming from lack of sleep.
Round 3: Sneak & Show, 2-1
Spun the deck for over 30 spells before I found my win in G1. Overwhelmed by early Atraxa in G2. G3 had a T1 Echo into the win.
Round 2: Eldrazi, 2-1
Took G1 off of Constructs after opp played chalice on 0 and 1, closing ut out with Tendrils for 6. G2 I never got anything up and running, Linebreakers smushed the floor. G3 I had the T1.
Round 1: PostNord, 0-2
My protected Echo spun up 4 lands in G1 and allowed opp to develop Karn. G2 mulls worked against me.
Legacy Champs today!
Hyped for this!
Round 9: Mono-B SCAM, 0-2
I did manage to lock down the board in G1, unfortunately all countermagic was spent in this effort and a Sheoldred slipped through, lost quickly. G2 Dauthi landed and locked down my graveyard, without any removal to be found.
Round 8: Oath, 1-2
Got Vintage'd in G1. G2 I had Chalice and Bauble to lock the game down, grinding it out. Played G3 away by keeping my T1 Petal instead of developing 2x cage against the T1 Oath, tunnel-visioned the game away.
Round 7: Dredge (MafuzVanGogh), 2-1
Took G1 off of 3xWasteland and DRS. Lost G2 to a T1 Hollowed One. G3 opp mulled to 1 without finding Bazaar, T1 Frog rode the win home.
Round 6: Jewel, 2-1
Opp had Talon Gates for my Ouphe while I didn't have Force to protect myself in G1. G2 was a Wasteland-game. G3 I had Force and locked the board down with permanents!
Round 5: Raker Shops, 0-2
Didn't have Force to interact with their T2 Combo in G1.
G2 I might have overdone it with playing Chalice and Bauble T1, allowed them to play and use The One Ring without contention.
Round 4: Lurrus PO, 2-0
Bowmasters closed things out, another example of a deck that mine is constructed to beat π
Round 3: Lurrus Breach, 0-2
While it should be a decent matchups, the recent inclusion of Mana Drain has made it awkward. Opp was superb and kept it tight, gave no windows for interaction and thoroughly smushed me.
Round 2: Tinker, 2-0
Exactly what my deck is built to beat, everything went according to plan. Good rally to the 1-1 bracket!
Playing in the Vintage Champs today!
Round 1: Mono-B Scam, 1-2
Dauthi came with the beats G1, I locked the board down in G2, got overpowered by Barrowgoyf in G3.
Rough start, time to rally.
